Origins of CrossFit Training

The origins of CrossFit date back to 1974 when 18-year-old college student Greg Glassman accepted his first athletic position as a gymnastics coach at his local YWCA. As he went on to work in a number of Southern California gyms, he began to find a number of problems with bodybuilding as it had traditionally been practiced. Mr. Glassman began to develop a training routine based on constantly changing, functional movements that are performed with a high degree of intensity. He ultimately found that this training method allowed for greater fitness improvement in less overall time.
