Orchard Funeral Services was established in 2011 and has rapidly gained a reputation for excellent but less expensive funerals.

How much does a funeral cost?An average traditional funeral costs about £4,000. We arrange burials for just £2,240.

What does that price include?The price includes everything: our professional and practical services, the removal of and caring for your loved-one and someone to conduct the funeral. The price includes a burial plot, a wicker and sea-grass coffin and the services of a gravedigger.

Our simple guaranteeWe offer the lowest priced funerals in Lincolnshire. We believe there is no need to pay more.

Are there any hidden costs?No. That is the price of a typical funeral. However, there are times when families do want additional services. These include flowers, holding a funeral at a weekend or in a church, a motorcycle hearse,hiring the local hall to hold the funeral and a wake.

What about pets?Pets can be buried by your side or in our separate Pets' Woodland.

Many people are unsure what to do when someone dies, or how to make sure that when they die their wishes will be respected.

One of the most important things you can do is plan ahead now, so your family will know what you want to happen when you die.

Writing a plan gives you peace of mind and makes it easier for those you leave behind.

Together we can plan everything you want to happen when you die – from the legal and the practical to the music to be played at your funeral. No other funeral director does this with you.

We charge £90 for individual plans and £140 for couples. A copy of the plan is then kept with your family, neighbour or solicitor. We can also hold a copy if you wish.

Terms and conditions

Under the following terms we will arrange a burial for £2,240. We will:

• undertake all professional responsibilities and complete all necessary paperwork,

• remove the deceased from where they died and later take them to be buried in an Orchard Funeral Services vehicle,

• care for the deceased at a place of our choosing. We will assist families who wish to care for their loved-one at home,

• provide a wicker coffin for cremation and wrap the deceased in a cotton shroud,

• arrange a funeral celebrant to conduct the funeral,

• provide a burial plot and engage the services of a gravedigger,

• ask family to carry the coffin and act as pallbearers.

Please note. It is not our policy to:

• undertake a funeral until full payment has been received,

• provide limousines for mourners,

• dress or apply cosmetics to the deceased, or arrange viewing,

• embalm the deceased, unless for hygienic reasons.
