DESCRIPTION
Oracle provides template for VirtualBox OEM 12c Cloud Control 12.1.0.3 version. For practicing and learning OEM 12c Cloud Control, this is the quickest way to get Cloud Control up and running. Enjoy!TRANSCRIPT
Build OEM 12c Cloud Control VirtualBox
Install the latest Oracle Virtual Box (requirement is 4.2.8 or higher)
Download VirtualBox
Install VirtualBox and VM VirtualBox Extension Pack
Read User Manual to get familiar with VirtualBox
Download VirtualBox OEM 12c Cloud Control Image from Oracle Software Delivery Cloud
Choose Oracle VM VirtualBox for Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control 12c Release 3 (12.1.0.3) Media
Pack for x86 (64 bit). It is always a good idea to read the “Readme” file by clicking the button.
Download the four files to your computer. I am using a Windows 7 desktop to run the
virtualbox VMs.
Unzip the files to a folder.
Merge the ova files, if you are on Linux use cat command “cat VBox_EM_12103_P1_?.ova >
EM12cR3_P1.ova”. On Windows, use the type command as shown.
Using VirtualBox, choose “Import Appliance”.
Adjust the VM properties as appropriate for your environment. I increased the memory to 8G,
as I am planning to install Oracle Database 12c into this VM as well. The database that comes
with OEM 12c VirtualBox VM is 11gR2, as OEM 12c Cloud Control is not supported with 12c
Database.
That’s it…
Start the VM
Password is welcome1
To start all services, use the start_all.sh script.
Home directory has scripts to start and stop services.
The README.FIRST has information on URL and ports.
You can also double-click on the EM12cR3 icon from the desktop after services started.
The sysman password is welcome1.
Enjoy playing with OEM 12c Cloud Control!
