Members and visiting sailors assemble on lawn, in the Catalina Wing and throughout the Catalina Alfresco area. Club Office closes. 1:45pm Please stand for our National Anthem. Opening Ceremony for the 2021/2022 Sailing Season commences. 2:15pm Cannon fires from the ceremonial deck. Our Season is open! Sailors disperse for Sail Past and racing. 2:40pm All Sail and Power Boats head to designated marks in Matilda Bay in preparation for Sail Past. 3:00pm Sail Past commences – separate instructions will be provided. Dinghy Division Keelboats and Power. Racing to commence at conclusion of Sail Past, no warning signal before 1500hrs. 3:30pm Members Aſternoon Tea in the Catalina Wing. It’s adventure time on the lawn for the kids with the Retro Games Trailer, Rock Climbing Wall and the Dragon bouncy castle and slide. Missy and Me to perform on the Catalina Bar Stage. 5:00pm Catalina Kitchen open for Meals. 6:00pm Results Presentations. 6:15pm IT’S PARTY TIME!! Enjoy classic tunes from Billy and the Broken Lines. Check out the delicious menu available from the Catalina Bar including Beef Brisket Burgers, Pizza, Fish and chips, Tempura veggie fritters, Butter chicken and rice, salads and more. With kids activities on the lawn including the Rock Climbing Wall, Retro Video Games Trailer and Dragon Combo Castle and slide– it’s a night for everyone. Members are asked not to park their cars in areas other than those allocated as car parking bays. Time limits on Loading Zones must be strictly observed to allow Members the opportunity of boat loading. Billy and the Broken Lines will have you on the dance floor from 7pm with their mix of classic rock, country and hits from the 60s – 80s. DRESSING OF THE SHIP – BEST DRESSED COMPETITION Why not get in the spirit of Opening Day. Dress your boat, dress your crew (of course you’ll need to be back in whites for racing) and be in the running for a prize for best dressed boat! Bring down the family and enjoy scrumptious delights while the kids are entertained with the activities on the lawn. Let them test their skills on the Retro Games Trailer (this might be a great way to show your kids how it used to be), Rock Climbing Wall or enjoy the Dragon Bouncy castle and slide. PARTY ON INTO THE EVENING We can’t wait to see the new Catalina Bar in full swing! Food will be available from 5pm with choices including a scrumptious Beef Brisket Burgers (mouth-wateringly good), Chef Simon’s divine Tempura veggie fritters, Fish and chips, Pizza, Butter chicken and rice, salads and more! We’ll have cocktail, wine and beer specials! There’s something for everyone – so bring your friends and family! All main meals will be $22. Kicks off from 5:00pm.
