WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE 9TH OF OCTOBER

10:00am Catalina Bar opens.

11:00am Club Office opens.

11:30am Light lunch available from the Catalina Bar.

1:00pm Louise Anton entertains Members from the Catalina Bar Stage.

1:35pm Catalina Lunch service concludes.Members and visiting sailors assemble on lawn, in the Catalina Wing and throughout the Catalina Alfresco area. Club Office closes.

1:45pm Please stand for our National Anthem.Opening Ceremony for the 2021/2022 Sailing Season commences.

2:15pm Cannon fires from the ceremonial deck. Our Season is open!Sailors disperse for Sail Past and racing.

2:40pm All Sail and Power Boats head to designated marks in Matilda Bay in preparation for Sail Past.

3:00pm Sail Past commences – separate instructions will be provided.Dinghy Division Keelboats and Power.Racing to commence at conclusion of Sail Past, no warning signal before 1500hrs.

3:30pm Members Afternoon Tea in the Catalina Wing.It’s adventure time on the lawn for the kids with the Retro Games Trailer, Rock Climbing Wall and the Dragon bouncy castle and slide.Missy and Me to perform on the Catalina Bar Stage.

5:00pm Catalina Kitchen open for Meals.

6:00pm Results Presentations.

6:15pm IT’S PARTY TIME!! Enjoy classic tunes from Billy and the Broken Lines. Check out the delicious menu available from the Catalina Bar including Beef Brisket Burgers, Pizza, Fish and chips, Tempura veggie fritters, Butter chicken and rice, salads and more. With kids activities on the lawn including the Rock Climbing Wall, Retro Video Games Trailer and Dragon Combo Castle and slide– it’s a night for everyone. No need to book, just bring along your family, crew and friends. IT’S THE PARTY TO KICK OFF THE SEASON.

OPENING OF THE 2021/2022 SEASONMembers, crew, family and friends are invited to attend the Opening Ceremony.

Any visiting yachts should be berthed along the Club Jetties and we ask that all skippers and crew join us on the lawn by 1:35pm

ATTENTION SAILORS – WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOWAll yachts are requested to dress ship for the Opening Ceremony.

RPYC Yachts are asked to remain in your pens until after the conclusion of the Opening Ceremony.

SAILING INSTRUCTIONSYou’ll find Opening Day courses and Sail Past Instructions in the course boxes near the Club Office.

Copies of the Red Book are available from the Club office and online at www.rpyc.com.au

RESULTSWe know the best part of the day is catching up with friends, fellow sailors and crew and talking about the day out on the water.

This year results will be announced for first place only, so we can get on to celebrating and enjoying the night as soon as possible.

SAIL PAST – DRESS YOUR BOAT It’s open to all boats, large and small, yacht or power yacht! We’d love to see you out there joining the Sail Past. Let’s make this year’s Sail Past, the biggest and best RPYC has seen.

A more detailed map with ‘sailing’ instructions will be available from the office or collecting them from the Course Boxes on the day.

PARKINGOn Opening Day please remember that Parking is limited to the cars of officials, invited guests and Members. We will have staff on the gates, so please ensure your car is displaying the current 2021/2022 RPYC sticker.

An area will be designated for official guests’ parking.

Members may be directed to car parking areas by car park attendants or Club staff. We ask that you please co-operate with these personnel.

Members are asked not to park their cars in areas other than those allocated as car parking bays.

Time limits on Loading Zones must be strictly observed to allow Members the opportunity of boat loading.

Once parking space in the Club grounds is full, Members should park in the area opposite the main entrance to Club grounds.

CLUB OFFICEThe Club Office will be open from 11am until 1:30pm.

CASH ARRANGEMENTSMembers’ cards, EFTPOS and cash can be used for purchases.

ENTERTAINMENTLouise Anton will entertain Members and guests from 1:00pm.

Member’s favourites, Missy and Me will kick off the show with an eclectic collection of Pop, Rock, Jazz, Reggae and Disco before handing over to Billy and the Broken Lines! A huge hit last year. Billy and the Broken Lines will have you on the dance floor from 7pm with their mix of classic rock, country and hits from the 60s – 80s.

DRESSING OF THE SHIP – BEST DRESSED COMPETITIONWhy not get in the spirit of Opening Day. Dress your boat, dress your crew (of course you’ll need to be back in whites for racing) and be in the running for a prize for best dressed boat!

MEMBERS AFTERNOON TEA FROM 3:30PMIt’s a day for everyone to celebrate all round! Everyone is invited to join us for a complimentary Afternoon Tea in the Catalina Wing. Bring down the family and enjoy scrumptious delights while the kids are entertained with the activities on the lawn.

CHILDREN’S ENTERTAINMENTThe main lawn will come alive with activities for the kids from 3:30pm. Let them test their skills on the Retro Games Trailer (this might be a great way to show your kids how it used to be), Rock Climbing Wall or enjoy the Dragon Bouncy castle and slide.

PARTY ON INTO THE EVENINGWe can’t wait to see the new Catalina Bar in full swing! Food will be available from 5pm with choices including a scrumptious Beef Brisket Burgers (mouth-wateringly good), Chef Simon’s divine Tempura veggie fritters, Fish and chips, Pizza, Butter chicken and rice, salads and more!We’ll have cocktail, wine and beer specials!There’s something for everyone – so bring your friends and family!All main meals will be $22.Kicks off from 5:00pm.
