Customers are requiring common Ground Control
Stations for UAS, with lower workload and higher
situational awareness.
Airbus D&S needs to keep in front of GCS technology
development in the mid and long term, harnessing the
scientific advances in this field
The advance of HMI and human-machine integration
technologies will enable new solutions to cover future
Customer needs in UAS Ground Control Stations.
SAVIER is and Open Innovation research program and a parallel
research demonstrator to validate and integrate the
state-of-the-art technological components from the research,
for the future Airbus D&S UAS Family GCS.

• Collect the current technology status and
maturize respective technologies for the 2020+
Ground Control Station
• Academia to better understand Airbus D&S
business needs for their research, and Airbus
D&S to better know the scientific community
• Ultimately, Open Innovation aims to develop
technologies not yet identified in Airbus D&S
roadmaps, that eventually will be incorporated to
our UAS Product portfolio for the next 5-10 years
