Sharon is the Schools & Projects Director at Makewaves, supporting their online community of 4,500 schools, 70,000 young people and 8,000 teachers sharing their work safely with a real audience and rewarding their achievements through Open Badges.

Makewaves is a partner in DigitalMe's Badge the UK project funded by the Nominet Trust and works closely with Mozilla and the Badge Alliance on the development of Open Badges for use in Primary and Secondary schools

Before joining Makewaves in 2004, Sharon was an Associate Producer of factual documentaries for an independent television production company and also produced a series of programmes for Yorkshire Television working with young people aged 14 to 24
