  • M.C.E. Society i.e. Maharashtra Cosmopolitan Education Society, Pune, the parent Governing Body of

    the college was established in the year 1948, with the objective of providing quality education. M.C.E.

    Society endeavors to bring education for all sections of the society irrespective of religion, caste and

    creed. It is both a religious and linguistic minority society as per Article 30(1) of the Constitution of

    India.

    The NLA situated at Azam Campus is placed in the

    heart of Pune City with a pleasing surrounding

    QUALIFICATION REQUIRED FOR ELIGIBILITY

    1. Three Year Law Course

    (a) First LL. B. :

    A student passing Bachelor's degree examination with Minimum 45% Marks in any faculty of this

    University or any other Recognised University shall be eligible for admission to First year LL.B. Course

    (three-year degree course). There shall be relaxation of 5% marks in case of SC/ST students.

    Norms of Eligibility for graduates and Post graduates of Open Universities

    Ref:-Bar council of India letter No.LE/Cir:02/2010 dated 20-12-2010

    The applicants who have obtained 10 + 2 or Graduation / Post Graduation through open Universities

    System directly without having any basic Qualifications for Prosecuting such Studies are not Eligible for

    admission in law courses.

    Ref. Bar Council of India letter NO.BCI:D:1823/2010(LE) Dated 30-11-2010

    In view of Rules of Legal Education 2008, no candidate from the Open University having a degree

    contrary to the U.G.C. Act and regulations and contrary to Legal Education Rules 2008 shall be admitted

    into law course.

    U.G.C. Regulations 1985 regarding the Minimum Standards of Instructions for the Grant of the first

    Degree through Formal Education : (U.G.C. letter No. F-1-117/83(CP) dated 25-11-1985) Para 2 (3)

    st (1) No students shall be eligible for the award of the 1 Degree unless he has successfully completed a

    three year course ; provided no student shall be eligible to seek admission to the Master's course in these

    faculties, who has not successfully pursued the first Degree Course of three years duration.

    U.G.C. Regulations 1985 regarding the Minimum Standards of Instructions for the Grant of the first

    Degree through Non- Formal/ Distance Education: (U.G.C. letter No. F-1-117/83(CP) dated 25-11-

    1985 ) Para2 (2)

    st (1) No students shall be eligible for the award of the 1 Degree unless he has successfully completed a

    three year course ; provided that no student shall be eligible to seek admission to the Master's course in

    these faculties, who has not successfully pursued the first Degree Course of three years duration.

    Prohibition to register for two regular courses of study :

    (Ref. B.C.I. Rules of Legal Education 2008)

    No Student shall be allowed to simultaneously register for a law degree programme with any other

    graduate or Post Graduate or certificate course run by the same or any other university or an institute

    for academic or professional learning excepting in the integrated degree programme of the same

    institution.

    Provided that any short period part time certificate course on language, computer science or

    computer application of an institute or any course run by a centre for distance learning of a University

    however, shall be excepted.

    QUALIFICATION REQUIRED FOR ELIGIBILITYQUALIFICATION REQUIRED FOR ELIGIBILITY

  • Prohibition against lateral entry and exit :

    There shall be no lateral entry on the plea of Graduation in any subject or exit by way of awarding

    degree splitting the integrated double degree course, at any intermediary stage of integrated double

    degree course.

    Explanation: (Ref. Definitions of B.C.I. Rules of Legal Education 2008)

    Lateral Entry is an admission given to graduate applicants at the beginning of third year in an

    integrated five year Course.

    Lateral Exit means opting out at the end of three year after successfully completing the courses up

    to the third year, from an Integrated Five Year course on being awarded a Bachelor Degree.

    (b) Second LL. B. :

    A student who has taken admission to II LL.B. course of this University, after passing the First LL.B.

    examination from any other University recognised by AIU and Bar Council of India will have to appear

    and pass in the subjects of First LL.B. course of this University in which he has not already passed, in his

    parent University. Further, if he so desires, he will be exempted in any of the subjects of the Second

    LL.B. examination of this University in which he has already passed in the parent University.

    (c) Third LL.B.:

    A student passing the Second Year LL.B. (LL.B. General) examination from a Statutory Indian University

    recognised by AIU and Bar Council of India is allowed to seek admission to the Third LL.B. Course in his

    University on the condition that he shall appear for and pass in all papers prescribed for the First and

    Second Year LL.B. Course of this University of which he has not passed in his parent university. Further

    if he so desires, he will be exempted in any of the subject at the Third LL.B. examination of this

    University if he has already passed in those subjects in the parent University. However, in such a case,

    he will be required to appear and pass in the deficient papers according to syllabus of First

    LL.B./Second LL. B. of this University.

    (AS PER THE BAR COUNCIL OF INDIA, NEW REGULATIONS 2008 :

    The maximum age for seeking admission into a stream of integrated Bachelor of Law Degree

    Programme (5 Year B.S.L. LL.B.,) is limited to twenty years in case of General category of applicants

    and to twenty two years in case of applicants from SC, ST and other Backward Communities.

    The maximum age for seeking admission into a stream of Three Year Bachelor Degree Course in Law is

    limited to thirty years with right of the University to give concession of 5 further years for the

    applicant belonging to SC, ST or any other Backward Community.

    (This condition of age limit is applicable as soon as notification regarding implementation of BCI New

    regulation 2008 is issued by University of Pune).

    ADMISSION PROCEDURE

    ORIGINAL DOCUMENTS TO BE SUBMITTED FOR CONFIRMATION OF ONLINE

    PROVISIONAL ADMISSION

    All prospective students are required to complete the entire admission procedure as per admission

    schedule notified by the institution on web site - www.nlapune.org every year before the

    commencement of the academic year. To facilitate the students, on-line admission procedure has

    been made available. All prospective applicants are requested to down-load the admission form

    directly from the website and send the downloaded application form duly filled in. There is no

    entrance test and admission is based purely on merit at the qualifying examination. The merit list of

    candidates who are given provisional admission will be displayed in the college notice board and also

    on the web site. After verification of documents and payment of fees, their provisional admission will

    be confirmed. The admissions confirmed by the institution are subject to approval of the University of

    Pune.

    NLA also reserves the right to deny admission to a prospective student if the management of the

    institution considers that it will affect the discipline and peaceful atmosphere of the institution and

    the campus.

    At the time of confirmation of online provisional admission, the following documents are required to

    be submitted at the office of A.K.K. New Law Academy, Pune (NLA) for verification and assessing the

    eligibility for the course. After verification, all the original documents will be returned to the

    candidate except T.C. and migration certificates.

    1) Original mark sheets of qualifying examination (H.S.C. / Degree).

    2) Date of Birth Certificate.

    3) School leaving certificate / Transfer Certificate in original.

    4) In case of student migrating from another University or Board, a migration certificate from

    that University or Board as the case may be in Original.

    5) Four copies of the latest identity card size photograph.

    6) Gap certificate if there is a gap from the date of last study.

    Foreign students desirous of securing admission in this college have to obtain Confirm Letter of

    Admission from the International Students Centre, University of Pune and produce the same at the

    time of admission. After admission all information regarding passport, visa, residential details should

    be communicated to foreign cell of Commissionarate of Police, Pune.

    PROGRAMME OF LL.B. - (THREE YEAR COURSE)

    The course shall extend to three academic years comprising of 6 Semesters. A candidate after

    successful completion of total 3 years course i.e. 6 Semesters of the course will be eligible for the

    award of Degree of LL.B. After completion of LL. B. (3 year course), the student has to clear All India

    Bar Examination conducted by Bar Council of India and then he is eligible to enroll himself as an

    Advocate under Advocate Act,1961.

    This integrated course is conceived of with an objective to bring legal education on par with other

    professional courses like medicine and engineering, where a student fresh out of H.S.C. can make an

    immediate career choice. The duration of the course shall extend to Five Academic Years of 10

    semesters.

    A candidate who successfully completes the 5 years of the course, i.e. the ten semesters of the course

    will be eligible for the award of the degree of B.S.L. LL. B. After completion of B.S.L. LL. B.(5 year

    course), the student has to clear All India Bar Examination conducted by Bar Council of India and then

    THE RULES OF STANDARD OF PASSING

    1. STANDARD OF PASSING :

    2. ENTITLEMENT TO APPEAR AT THE ACADEMIC YEAR (B.S.L., LL.B., 5 YEAR INTEGRATED LAW COURSE):

    (As mentioned in Circular No 230 of 2003 of University of Pune - Ref. No. ICB/3524 dtd 12-6-2003).

    Semester Scheme for LL.B. (Three Year Law Course) and B.S.L. LL.B.,(Five years Law course) from Academic year 2003-2004.

    The 1st and 2nd years of the LL.B. (Three year Law course) and B.S.L. LL.B.,(Five year Law course) will adhere to the following semester pattern from the academic year 2003-2004.

    The improved semester pattern of 100 marks for each paper will be introduced in a phased manner as shown below :

    The examination pattern has been simplified for the semester scheme and it shall be as follows :

    A) Since law subjects of these two courses are the same with same prescribed syllabus, only one paper will be set for the two courses at any examination session.

    B) Since one subject shall have only one paper during any session, all candidates regular, repeaters of all semesters and non-semesters candidates of earlier years will appear for the same paper.

    C) The papers for that subject will however have different code numbers according to the course for identification.

    1. Students appeared for 1st year of New Five Year Course B.S.L. LL.B., in the academic year 2002-2003 will be exempted from the paper Contract-I in the 2nd year B.S.L. LL.B., provided they have passed the subject. The student from this batch, who passed all subjects of 1st year B.S.L. LL.B., except paper Contract-I, will be eligible for admission to 2nd B.S.L. LL.B., Provided the candidate clears the pass/ATKT rules of 2nd year B.S.L. LL.B. However class will be awarded for student getting exemption in Contract - I.

    2. The above batch will be converted to new semester system from 2nd B.S.L. LL.B. commencing from 2003-2004.

    3. All admission in both the law courses from academic year 2003-2004 will be given to the new semester scheme of 2003-2004.

    To pass the 1st and 2nd years of B.S.L. LL.B., Examination (Five year law course) a candidate must obtain:

    a) 40% of the full marks in each paper. b) 40% of the total marks in the examination.

    To pass the 3rd, 4th & 5th year B.S.L. LL.B. and 1st, 2nd and 3rd year of LL. B. Examination, a candidate must obtain :

    i) 35% of the full marks in each paper and ii) 50% of the total marks in the examination.

  • A candidate who has completed his term for Semester I, III, V, VII and IX of the Five year B.S.L., LL.B. Course and has paid examination fees for such Semester Examination, shall be entitled to appear for any or all of such papers respectively along with the Semester II, IV, VI, VIII or X examination respectively.

    Any student who has appeared for Semester I, III, V, VII or IX Examination of the five year B.S.L. LL.B.,Courses shall be entitled to re-appear for all or any of the papers along with the Semester II, IV, VI, VIII or X examination for improving his marks.

    A Candidate who obtains at least 50% of the full marks in a paper shall at his option be exempted from that paper at a subsequent examination. He/She shall however have to pass in the remaining paper or papers in accordance with the standard of passing laid down above. The benefit of exemption so earned may be available for six years only.

    At the end of the academic year, those of the successful candidates who obtained 50% or more of the total marks will be placed in the Second Class, and those who obtain 60% or more of the total marks will be placed in the First Class, and those who obtain 70% or more marks will be place in First Class with Distinction.

    A candidate who obtains at the 1st, 2nd, 3rd year of B.S.L. LL.B. or 4th year of B.S.L. LL.B. (Five year B.S.L. LL.B. Course) hereinafter earlier year 50% of the full marks in the number of subjects given below out of the total number of papers prescribed for the respective academic year shall be allowed to keep terms respectively for next year i.e. the 2nd, 3rd year of B.S.L. LL.B. and 4th and 5th year B.S.L. LL.B., Examination i.e. ATKT for 1/3 of the total subjects.

    Such a candidate shall not be eligible for a Cash prize or scholarship awarded at the examination.

    A candidate who obtains at least 50 percent of the full marks in a paper shall at his option be exempted from the paper at a subsequent examination. He shall, however, have to pass in the remaining paper/s in accordance with the standard of passing laid down.

    Students shall attend at least 75% of lectures delivered in each subject/semester. Otherwise they are not eligible to write examinations at the end of each semester.

    Students shall write and attend the prescribed number of tutorials for each year to the satisfaction of the faculty.

    Under the scheme of Practical Training Programme, each student shall compulsorily maintain a Journal as may be prescribed by the institution for the clinical work done by him and from time to time regularly record in it the work allotted to and done by him in his own handwriting and the dates thereto under his signature and the same be scrutinized and counter signed from time to time by concerned Professor-in-charge. The journal shall be submitted to the institution for assessment. The Professor-incharge or some other examiner or a panel of examiners from time to time or at the end of the term as per the discretion of the Principal of the academy shall assess the journal. Questions on the basis of the journals, so maintained may also be asked at the time of Viva Voice Examination that may be taken for the practical training course.

    The dress code of the college for academic and other ceremonial activities is :

    For Boys : White Shirt, Black pant with black tie and black blazer.

    For Girls : White Salawar kurta / Saree with black blazer.

    Students under the supervision of a Professor-in-charge shall visit at least three of the following places during such working day and timing as may be decided by the institution. The object of this course is to enable the students to understand the actual working in some of the departments and the documents maintained by them with a view to familiarize them.

    The visits will be to any of the following places :

    6. Field visit to local areas and villages for Free Legal Aid Activities. Students shall be required to make their own notes and observations about the proceedings so visited and attended by them including the facts of the proceedings, legal issues involved and record them in the journal maintained by them. The journal so maintained for this purpose shall be assessed for the purpose of allotting marks under practical training paper.

    Students under practical training paper shall attend the offices of advocates on such days and during such timings as the concerned Advocates may suggest. The object of this course is to enable a student to make himself conversant with the working in an Advocates office as to how he takes instructions form clients and so on. The observation made by the student shall be recorded in the journal under practical training paper and the same shall be assessed for allotment of marks.

    As per the syllabus prescribed for practical training paper, a Viva-Voice Examination shall be held on behalf of the University by a committee of two examiners (one external and one internal) to be appointed by the University who will ask questions to the students on the basis of the clinical work done by them and marks will be allotted to them accordingly. The students shall submit the journal at the time of viva-voce.

    ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION

    Every candidate seeking admission to the Master of Laws Course (LL.M. Degree course) must have passed the LL.B. Degree after completing three years of the LL.B. Course or all the five years of the Five year course of this University or its equivalent degree of another statutory University recognized as equivalent to said degree of this University.

    The duration of the course of study for the degree of Master of Laws shall be two years.

    In each course there shall be four lectures per week and each lecture shall be of sixty minutes. In addition to four lectures in each course there shall be weekly tutorials. (for details, see Oral work, Group Discussions and Seminars). A candidate is required to attend a minimum of 85 percent of the tutorials and lectures delivered in each semester to become eligible for grant of term. The Principal shall debar a candidate from appearing in the examination, if he has not secured the prescribed minimum of attendance in the class in each subject. The four subjects in the first semester and the four subjects in the second semester shall be compulsory.

    In the first two semesters four compulsory subjects will be taught i.e. each subjects is divided into two parts of total marks 400 + 400 = 800 marks. The internal assessment pattern would be out of 40 marks. In the semester III optional subjects (groups) will be introduced. The number of seats for each optional subject shall be decided by the Principal from time to time.

    There shall be six papers (3+3) of the two opted specilizations distributed in the third and fourth semester. In the third semester 2+2=4 papers of the two specializations and in the fourth semester 1+1=2 papers of the two specializations. In Semester III the students are required to opt for four papers consisting of total 400 marks from two optional groups selected by him. The internal assessment for these four papers (of semester III) will be same as semester I&II. (The six papers of the two opted specialisations will be distributed in the third and fourth semesters i.e. in the III semester 2+2=4 papers of the two specializations and in IV semester 1+1=2 papers of the two specialization will be offered).

    In respect of the internal assessment in these two papers of semester IV he/she is not to write additional questions in the two internal written tests. However, viva of 5 marks each shall be held in these two papers of semester IV at the end of the terms. (also see, Sr. No. 7).

    At the semester IV, the students shall write a dissertation in the optional group chosen by him/her consisting of total 200 marks. The dissertation topic shall be chosen by the student at the beginning of semester III. The dissertation shall be examined by one external examiner.

    At the beginning of each academic year, the Principal shall notify the optional courses in which instruction would be available during the academic year. No regular candidate is permitted to opt for courses not so notified.

    The specializations shall be opted by the students with the permission of the Principal, on or before the last date of the second semester and also choose the topics for dissertation which shall be submitted in

  • the fourth semester. The dissertation will be of 200 marks (150 marks for the dissertation and 50 marks for viva-voce examination on dissertation) in lieu of the two papers in the fourth semester. In the third semester instead of Long Term Papers in two subjects, the students shall attempt two questions of 7 marks, in two written tests in the semester to enable them to focus on the dissertation research work.

    The dissertation shall be examined by one external and shall also hold a viva-voce test along with one internal examiner nominated by the Principal, before awarding the marks. The work for which a candidate shall be assessed with respect to each course shall comprise of the following :

    Written examination through question papers for each course. An external papers for one semester course shall carry 60 marks. Internal assessments work (as detailed separately). It shall carry 40 marks for one semester course. The final written examination through question papers shall be held at the end of each semester. The Internal Assessment Work will have to be completed during the duration of the course only. No candidate shall be permitted to appear in more than six papers at any one examination at a time. The performance of the candidates shall be indicated through classes instead of numerical marks. The marks for the written examination, internal assessment work and/or dissertation, if any, shall be indicated separately on the transcript. (The table for the conversion of marks into classes is given separately).

    To pass the LL.M. examination, a candidate must obtain 40 marks for each subject (the marks for the written examination, internal assessment being added up) and 50 marks in the aggregate. Provided further that the difference between the internal and external assessment marks of a candidate for any subject shall not be more than 15 percent. If the marks obtained in internal assessment by a candidate exceed the marks obtained by him in external assessment by more than 15 percent, the marks obtained by him in internal assessment shall be brought down to that extent.

    In order to improve the Class, a candidate shall be permitted to reappear at the external written examination for any subject or subjects, in subsequent attempts.

    However, he/she shall not be permitted to improve his/her internal assessment class except as a regular student. If he/she seeks admission as a regular student, it shall be both for internal assessment work and external examination.

    Terms shall be granted for each subject independently at the end of the semester. A candidate who fails to complete his/her terms successfully with respect to one or more subjects can complete the same during the semesters when the subjects are taught.

    Work for internal assessment in each semester course shall comprise of :

    Longish Term Paper 15 marks or 2 questions of 7 marks each.

    Two Tests 10 marks (of 5 marks each).

    LONGISH TERM PAPER AND DISSERTATION

    NATURE OF TOPICS OF LTP AND DISSERTATION

    The students will have to complete a longish term paper or a project in lieu thereof for any two subjects.

    As far as possible the contents of the longish term paper shall be the following depending upon the nature of the topic assigned :

    Collection of relevant material Judicial, Legislative, Juristic, Comparative and international and/or otherwise.

    Critical analysis and appreciation of this material.

    Proper citation of necessary reference consulted and relied upon.

    Empirical data when the LTP is non-doctrinal (field-visit).

    For all semester the LTPs shall be submitted not later than stipulated date for submission as notified by the Principal.

    The students are to make two typed/hand written copies of the longish term papers since the one submitted to the college will be retained by it as part of the record and will not be returned to the students.

    In case of Dissertation three typed copies are to submitted, one to external referee, one with the Principal and one to the concerned teacher.

    No candidate shall be allowed to publish the LTP / Dissertation :

    submitted to the College, without prior written sanction of the Principal.

    The paper shall run into 3000 to 5000 words.

    The topic shall relate to a specific area of enquiry.

    While assigning the topic it shall be kept in view that sufficient material in libraries within reach of the student exists and/or the area of inquiry is suitable for field study. The topic would be so delimited that the student is required to go beyond the standard text books and to consult the reference material or conduct field study for preparing his/her paper/dissertation.

    A list of topics or projects to be assigned to the students shall be prepared by the teacher of the subject concerned and sent to the Principal, within the stipulated date in each semester. The topics (titles) or projects of LTP/Dissertation shall be finalized with the approval of Principal.

    These topics or projects or dissertation titles shall be communicated and assigned to the students at the beginning of each term by the teacher concerned.     or dissertation. Any additional topic suggested by the students and approved by the teacher and the Principal, can also be assigned. The candidate shall submit 3 monthly progress reports (typed) on the work done by him/her to Principal through the concerned subject teacher.

    There shall be two periodic written tests for each subject in every semester.

    The topic(s) for the test may be announced by the teacher concerned in advance.

    The test shall be conducted by the College.

    A detailed record of the test shall be maintained by the teacher concerned which can at any time be examined by the Principal.

    Group discussion and seminars shall be regularly held during the tutorial period on pre-assigned topics or pre-prepared papers in consultation with the Principal. The college may arrange weekly seminars for two hours.

    A record of the same shall be maintained by the teacher concerned which can at any time be scrutinized by the Principal.

    There shall be one oral viva test towards the end of each semester for each subject.

    The topic(s) for the test shall be assigned by the teacher concerned well in advance. Questions are to be asked also on the LTP.

    The oral test shall be conducted jointly by the teacher concerned and another person appointed by the Principal from Faculty for about 15 minutes per student.

    A record of the oral tests shall be maintained by the teacher concerned, which can at any time be scrutinized by the Principal.

    NOTWITHSTANDING what has been provided above regarding the components of internal assessment work and the marks for each such component, a student shall have the choice to select any two subjects in any semester for writing the long terms papers. For such subjects, for which he/she does not choose to write the long term papers, He/she shall be required to appear the written tests as prescribed, but those written test shall carry 12 marks (5 + 7 marks) each and such student would be required to attempt two questions instead of one at each such test.

    The library is the 'heart' of any academic institution and plays an important role in all academic activities and more so in law institutions. NLA library serves as the intellectual foundation for the students and faculty engaged in legal education and research. The library collection includes a comprehensive array of legal resources in both print and electronic forms as well as access to online law resources. The library is dedicated to provide expert services to the student community with legal research guidance and to look forward to assist students and researchers for their legal research.

    The library is located at second floor of the NLA building with immense number of seating capacity. Library is automated and circulation of books is maintained with the help of barcode system. The library is automated using library module of VRIDDHI Software integrated campus management software). VRIDDHI Software integrates all the libraries through Intranet in Azam Campus and the OPAC of all the campus libraries can be searched at one terminal. Library has CCTV system to monitor activities of students and other patrons towards security and safety issue.

    The Library provides both anticipatory and on-demand services for better utilization of information resources with maximum satisfaction of students and faculty. Reference and general queries from users are answered personally by the library staff. News paper clippings, display of new arrivals, display of notices and other useful information are main activities under Current Awareness Services. The library also organises books exhibition.

    Library provides photocopy and printouts service to the students at nominal charges.

    Library has an inter-library loan arrangement with all the college libraries in Azam Campus and has institutional membership of Jaykar Library, University of Pune.

    Library provides access to over 3,000 e-journals and 75,000 e-books of all subjects through N- LIST of INFLIBNET (UGC) and also has IP based access to www.manupatra.com to search database of Judgments of the Supreme Court and High Courts and other related legal resources. The library also has AIR Supreme Court Database 1950-2011 and CD of the Journal of the Indian Law Institute (1958 2011).

    At the beginning of every academic year, an orientation programme is organized in the Library for new students. Orientation programme includes library tour, familiarity with online resources, OPAC, reference and allied tools useful for legal research. Students are guided by the library staff to be familiar with the collection and its location within the library.

    Library has an excellent reading room with 112 comfortable chairs and tables with divider and a separate reference section with seating capacity of 28. There are 2 reading rooms separate for boys and girls which are common for all the students of Azam Campus and remain open till late night.

    The reading room remains open from 9 a.m. to 8.00 p.m.

    All the Library facilities are provided to the Library Members only and Library Membership is given on payment of refundable deposit of Rs. 500/-. This deposit continues for the entire course and will be refunded to the students after the completion of the full course.

    Taking into consideration the importance of the use of the Internet into academics NLA provides for a full fledged air conditioned Computer Room for its students. All the Computers are connected to the internet with 256 kbps high speed with fiber optic lines.

    For those who favour physical exercise, the college offers fairly decent V.M. Gany Sport Pavilion with all sports facilities in Azam camps. A football field, a basketball court, two volleyball/ throwball courts, a tennis court are some of the sporting facilities available in the campus. In addition to this, facilities for playing badminton,table tennis and other indoor games are also available to the students. The play ground has a running track of 800 Meters. There is also a well-equipped gym open from 6 am to 8 pm.

    The college has Students Club with the indoor games like carrom, chess and LCD TV. After studies students can refresh themselves by playing these games and watching TV. It also provides the students a platform to gather and share their views while playing.

    The canteen is run on a no-profit-no-loss basis and provides wholesome food in the afternoon (lunch) and eatables, and tea at other times.

    An extension counter of Muslim Co-operative Bank is operating in the Campus of NLA.

    NLA has moot court hall in which moot court competitions are held regularly to enable the students to understand and get the experience of court proceedings. After giving proper training, students will be sent to attend national and international moot court competition.

    Cancellation of admission if applied for within 10 days from the commencement of the academic year, 10% of tuition fee will be deducted and the remaining balance will be refunded. If cancellation is applied for within 15 days from the commencement of the academic year, only 75% of tuition fee will be refunded.     The students are entitled to receive the Government Fee concessions such as BC, EBC, PTC etc as per the Government norms. These eligible students shall be admitted on payment of required amount of fees to NLA at the time of admission. This will enable the college to forward their cases to the concerned Govt. offices without any delay. It will also help student in getting the concession amount as early as possible.

    The institution grants merit scholarship to merit students on the basis of their outstanding performance. Merit is determined on the basis of performance in examinations, regularity of attendance and participation in other academic activities of the institution. Financial aid under the STUDENTS AID FUND is given to deserving students on the basis of their regular attendance, tutorial work, good behaviour and progress during the term/semester.

    The college conducts study tour to make a practical study of the history of the ancient and medieval kingdoms and to get the students acquainted with the cultural and legal system of various places & people.

    The college has one unit of National Service Scheme consists of fifty students. The purpose of N.S.S. is to develop national consciousness and a sense of social service among the students.     Under Right to information Act 2005, the following persons have been designated as :

    RULES OF DISCIPLINE

    Students must observe silence in the college premises. They must not loiter in the garden and passage and corridors after the classes have begun. They must read quietly in the Library and spend other spare time in such a way as not to cause disturbance to others.

    Students must be punctual and regular in attendance with minimum of 75% attendance of lectures held. It is mandatory for students to attend all the Seminars, Symposia, Workshops, Legal Aid Camps, Guest Lecturer and Other Co-Curricular activities organised by College, failing which they will not be eligible to appear the examination.

    No society or association of the students will be started without the previous permission of the principal. No person shall be invited to address or entertain the students of the college without the previous permission of the Principal.

    Every student shall undertake to abide by Ordinance No. 157 of University of Pune pertaining to maintenance of discipline and good conduct by students, as provided for under Ordinances framed under the Maharashtra Universities Act or such other laws in force.

    Every student of the college is provided an identity card. He/She should always carry it with him/her in and outside the college and should produce it whenever called upon to do so by the relevant authorities. No student of the college should travel without his/her identity card. Every candidate for the examination shall produce this card at time of university examination.

    The students are bound by all the rules and regulations laid down by the college from time to time. Any matter not expressly provided for in these rules shall vest at the absolute decision of the Principal who also reserves the right of modifying these rules as and when felt necessary.
