ABOUTPeople often put off going to the doctor when they have concerns about having unfamiliar signs and symptoms because they don’t have time or are worried about what it may be a result of. One Step Ahead aims to raise awareness on the signs and symptoms of cancer and encourage a people to start seeking immediate medical advice about their health concerns.

GOALEarly detection of cancer can make a crucial difference to your health outcomes. Be aware of cancer signs and symptoms. It’s important to know exactly what you’re up against. Our goal is to reduce the impact of cancer in the community by advocating the importance of early cancer detection.

BRANDINGThe colours are inspired by the Cancer Council Australia branding to promote a sense of familiarity with a well-known cancer research organisation, whilst creating a fun yet motivational look to the brand. The designs feature a minimalist look created with contemporary style of typography and iconic graphics. This style allows the message to be communicated effectively without being lost amongst the design.

POSTERSAs a result of the Twitter competition, the most retweeted answers would be made into posters to promote cancer prevention and encourage people to live a healthy lifetstyle. The poster will also feature a QR code which is linked to the 6 Step Check video online.

POSTERSAnother set of posters would be the key warning signs and symptoms of cancer. These printed advertisements will serve as a reminder for people to keep an eye on their health and encourage them to do regular cancer screenings.

STICKERSThe stickers feature a QR code that is linked to the 6 Step Check video on Vimeo. They will be handed out during the event so people can post it on public spaces.

WEBSITEThe webite will showcase our cause and other key information about the campaign such as the 6 step check video, key warning signs of cancer and free health check event. It will be set up as a responsive one page site which users can easily scroll through or navigate via the links found on the menu bar. The social media icons on the side will remain visible throughout the entire website for easy access.

FACEBOOKAs one of our social media outlets, Facebook will be used to engage with our target audience. We will be regularly posting new links to information about events and competitions to keep the audience involved with our campaign.

TWITTERLike Facebook, Twitter will be used to keep the audience up to date with information concerning the campaign. A competition will be held in twitter in which epople are encouraged to post tips and advice to living a healthier lifetsyle. The answers with the most retweets would be created into posters to be displayed in public spaces.

HASHTAGThe hashtag will be utilised across Facebook and Twitter for people to submit feedback, questions, images and videos relating to the event. It will also be used to enable participants to post their tips and advice to a healthy lifestyle for the Twitter competition.

VIMEOThe video will be posted up on vimeo as one of the key components of the campaign. An upbeat soundtrack is used for the background music to create an uplifting and motivational feel to the video. It features the same graphic icons used for the signs and symptoms posters to remain consistent with the design. This video will act as a helpful guide for people when doing self-checks at home.
