EMPOWERING

Spending hours on the playground, making collages out of Sports Illustrated pictures and dreaming about being an athlete were the best Reita Clanton could do in a time when there were no organized sports for girls. However, she knows rst hand how the hope and inspiration generated by staying true to your heart can help you reach your ggreatest potential. When desire met opportunity in college, a re that had been held within blazed a trail from the Plains of Auburn University to the Olympic Games and back garnering her a place in the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame with the likes of Henry ‘Hank’ Aaron, Bear Bryant and Bo Jackson. "Nothing in my circumstances encouraged me to be an athlete. But the circumstances encouraged me to be an athlete. But the desire and joy for playing sports were always in the center of my heart and what's purposed in your heart is always superior to your circumstances." Now, this Olympic torch-bearer shares her experiences helping young people discover the internal ame that fuels their dfuels their dreams. Reita Clanton travels as a motivational speaker bringing inspiration and insight that resonates with youth, young adults, coaches, educators and parents.
