On 21 November Local Chapters around the world celebrated oikos Alumni Day 2009 It is the first time the oikos network brings together its alumni on the same day in different cities around the world (for example in Paris and Cologne) The oikos Alumni Day coincided with Shaping Change This events was the first in a series of events focussed on developing tools for change makers

Connecting in LondonAlumni in London are connecting to other sustainability professionals The alumni group in London has now teamed up with sustainability professionals They have just had their first session in The Hub Islington
Meet alumnus Lukasz MakuchMy name is Lukasz Makuch and I work as a CSR coordinator at PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna Polandrsquos biggest energy company Before I joined this company I was a corporate sustainability consultant at PwC I was part of oikos between 2004-2006 when I served as the president of oikos Warsaw Since 2006 I am a member of the Advisory Board of this chapter The oikos motto mdash lsquoBe informed get involved make a differencersquo mdash was and still is my reason for being active within oikos because I truly believe in this philosophy
What I care most about in sustainability is the possibility to make a difference In my job I try to balance the ecological social and economical aspects of PGE to minimize its environmental and social impact and create added social value For me the biggest hurdle to overcome within my company is a mental hurdle it is a former state owned company and currently 85 is still state owned In 2010 I hope that we can continue networking amongst oikos alumni and develop some joint projects in collaboration with oikos chapters One hint I can give to current oikos students is lsquoNever stop being an oikeersquo

On 21 November Local Chapters around the world celebrated oikos Alumni Day 2009 It is the first time the oikos network brings together its alumni on the same day in different cities around the world (for example in Paris and Cologne) The oikos Alumni Day coincided with Shaping Change This events was the first in a series of events focussed on developing tools for change makers

Meet alumnus Lukasz MakuchMy name is Lukasz Makuch and I work as a CSR coordinator at PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna Polandrsquos biggest energy company Before I joined this company I was a corporate sustainability consultant at PwC I was part of oikos between 2004-2006 when I served as the president of oikos Warsaw Since 2006 I am a member of the Advisory Board of this chapter The oikos motto mdash lsquoBe informed get involved make a differencersquo mdash was and still is my reason for being active within oikos because I truly believe in this philosophy
What I care most about in sustainability is the possibility to make a difference In my job I try to balance the ecological social and economical aspects of PGE to minimize its environmental and social impact and create added social value For me the biggest hurdle to overcome within my company is a mental hurdle it is a former state owned company and currently 85 is still state owned In 2010 I hope that we can continue networking amongst oikos alumni and develop some joint projects in collaboration with oikos chapters One hint I can give to current oikos students is lsquoNever stop being an oikeersquo

Vienna alumni get together oikos Alumni Day and Shaping Change
On 21 November Local Chapters around the world celebrated oikos Alumni Day 2009 It is the first time the oikos network brings together its alumni on the same day in different cities around the world (for example in Paris and Cologne) The oikos Alumni Day coincided with Shaping Change This events was the first in a series of events focussed on developing tools for change makers

Connecting in LondonAlumni in London are connecting to other sustainability professionals The alumni group in London has now teamed up with sustainability professionals They have just had their first session in The Hub Islington
Meet alumnus Lukasz MakuchMy name is Lukasz Makuch and I work as a CSR coordinator at PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna Polandrsquos biggest energy company Before I joined this company I was a corporate sustainability consultant at PwC I was part of oikos between 2004-2006 when I served as the president of oikos Warsaw Since 2006 I am a member of the Advisory Board of this chapter The oikos motto mdash lsquoBe informed get involved make a differencersquo mdash was and still is my reason for being active within oikos because I truly believe in this philosophy
What I care most about in sustainability is the possibility to make a difference In my job I try to balance the ecological social and economical aspects of PGE to minimize its environmental and social impact and create added social value For me the biggest hurdle to overcome within my company is a mental hurdle it is a former state owned company and currently 85 is still state owned In 2010 I hope that we can continue networking amongst oikos alumni and develop some joint projects in collaboration with oikos chapters One hint I can give to current oikos students is lsquoNever stop being an oikeersquo
