He is a career diplomat whose previous assignments include work at the Canadian missions in Brazil, Cuba, Romania, France, and the United Arab Emirates, as well as li-tigation management with the Canadian immigration department in Ottawa. Mr. Mijic holds a Master’s degree from York University in Toronto. As the Immigration Counsel-lor at the Canadian Embassy in Berlin he is responsible for promotion of Canada´s immigration programs.

Starting in early 2014, this independent commission focuses on policy research, analysis and advise in the area of migration, labour markets, integration and develop-ment. During 2012 – 2013 Kristof Tamas was a Senior Policy Adviser at the Secretari-at for the Swedish Chairmanship of the Global Forum on Migration and Development, based at the Swedish Government Offices. He was a Seconded National Expert for Sweden in the European Commission, Directorates-General for Justice, Freedom and Security and Home Affairs, based in Brussels (2007 – 2011). From 2003 to 2007 he worked as an independent research consultant based at the Institute for Futures Studies in Stockholm, with consultancies for inter alia the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs, the European Commission, the International Organisation for Migration and the World Bank. Between 1997 and 2003 he was a Special Adviser and then Deputy Director in the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs. Kristof Tamas has more than 20 years of expertise and work concerning migration policy development; migration and development; labour migration, circular migration, new forms of mobility and labour markets; the enlargements and external relations of the European Union, bilateral and multilateral cooperation; and regional and global governance of migration.

He currently works on matters of migrant integration, especially that of refugees, and on issues of labour market institutions, long-term unemployment and labour mobi-lity in the EU. Before joining the SVR (The Export Council of German Foundations on Integration and Migration), Dr. Schneider held research positions with the German Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF), the Hamburg Institute of International Econo-mics (HWWI) and the German Federal Agency for Civic Education (bpb). Dr. Schneider earned his PhD at Giessen University’s Institute of Political Science.

He studied economics at the University of Bonn and received his doctoral degree in Economics at the University of Maastricht. His research interests are in applied labor economics, international trade and migration research. At the IAB he is currently direc-ting the development of the questionnaire of new panel studies, the IAB SOEP Migra-tion Sample and the IAB-BAMF SOEP Refugee Sample. He is also responsible, among others, for the project “Immigration Monitor”, analyzing the labor market integration of immigrants in Germany.

Ehsan Vallizadeh

Research associate at the Institute for Employment Research (IAB) in Nuremberg.

He is also affiliated with the German Institute for Economic Research (DIW Berlin) and the Institute for the Study of Labor (IZA). He studied economics in Mannheim and Nottingham and finished his dissertation at the University of Kiel in 2015. His rese-arch covers social and economic consequences of migration on migrants and their countries of origin, underlying factors of successful labor market integration as well as natives’ attitudes towards refugees.

Dr. Tobias Stöhr

Postdoctoral researcher at the Kiel Institute for theWorldEconomy(IfW).

Previously, Ms. Sundén served as the Deputy Director-General of the Swedish Pen-sions Agency. She has also held research or management positions with Sida, the Swedish Social Insurance Agency, the Center for Retirement Research at Boston College, and the Federal Reserve Board in Washington, DC. Ms. Sundén is also invol-ved in various professional activities, including serving as Vice Chair of the Board of Första AP-fonden, one of the buffer funds in the Swedish pension system, and as a member of the Delegation for Migration Studies. Ms. Sundén earned her B.S. from the Stockholm School of Economics and an M.S. and a Ph.D. in economics from Cornell University.

His research focus lies on migration and family policy. Beforehand he worked as junior researcher at the ifo Institute for Economic Research in Munich in the department “So-cial Policy and Labour Market”. He gained his doctorate in Economics at the University of Tubingen.

Dr. Wido Geis

Senior Economist at the Cologne Institute for EconomicResearch(IWKöln)intheResearchUnit“Education,MigrationandInnovation”.

Holger is an applied labor economist whose research focuses on the economic conse-quences of immigration, the effects of active labor market policies and family related policies, and structural analysis of labor supply decisions. He is also very active as policy advisor to German and international institutions. Among others, he is a member of the Expert Commission of the 2nd Gender Inequality Report of the German govern-ment, the Advisory Board of the 5th Inequality Report, the Population Economics and the Economic Policy Sections of the German Economic Association, and the Council for Migration.

Holger Bonin

Chief Coordinator of Labor Policy Research at the Institute for the Study of Labor (IZA) in Bonn and Professor of Labor Market and Social Policy at the University of Kassel.

He completed a degree in sociology at the University of Frankfurt in 1986 and attained subsequently his doctorate from the University of Frankfurt in 1994. In 2005 Herbert Brücker received his habilitation in economics from the University of Technology in Berlin. From 1988 to 2005 he held research positions at the University of Frankfurt, the German Development Institute (GDI) and the German Institute for Economic Research (DIW) in Berlin. Herbert Brücker was Visiting Professor at the Aar-hus School of Business from 2004 to 2005. His research interests cover international migration, labour economics and European integration. He has published in journals such as Economic Policy, European Economic Review, Review of Economic Studies and the Scandinavian Journal of Economics.

Currently, he is working at the Centre for Population, Poverty and Public Policy Studies at Luxemburg with focus on the effect of migration on the pension system. Former, the area of micro simulation, labour supply and taxes has been his major research activity, besides Gotheburg also at different Universities in the US.
