REMEMBER: LIFE IS HARD

Last Saturday afternoon, I was in Owasso with Rachel and Teddie. There were

some stores that all three of us wanted to go to. There were things we wanted to look at and

there were things we wanted to buy.

We went out and enjoyed a nice lunch, just the three of us. We talked and we

laughed. We looked at the things we wanted to look at and bought some of the things we

wanted to buy.

It was a great day with my girls. It was the kind of day that I love to have with them.

But as much as I was enjoying my time with them, my mind was somewhere else. While we

were out having a good time, enjoying one another’s company, there were people who were

dealing with hard trials of life.

Before we went to Owasso, I had been at Hillcrest Hospital visiting a friend. She

had been intubated the day before and she didn’t even know I was there. I spoke with her

husband who told me she was doing better than she was the day before.

While out in Owasso, I had received a message from Kendall Odle telling me when

the visitation was for her mom, where it was going to be, and that I needed to be ready to

speak at her service.

I was out having a good time with my girls and there were others who were hurting.

A husband was at his wife’s side at the hospital, as he has been for the last 45 days. A

daughter was having to get used to the reality that her mom had passed from this life.

Sometimes our lives can be going so well that we forget that life is hard. I think this

is why Paul admonished us in Romans 12:15 to, “Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn

with those who mourn.”

Life is hard, but with our brothers and sisters in Christ we will get through it! Take

time this week to rejoice with those who are rejoicing, but also take some time this

week to mourn with those who mourn! Both of these things are greatly needed!
