Introduction

When most peoplespeak of eLearning,they mostly refer tothe course technologypart of eLearning.Unfortunately, coursetechnology is only oneof several factors thatdefine a successful e-Based learning.

Whereas, the technologyof eLearning is pervasive,a working knowledge ofthe more than two dozenfactors that definesuccess in thisenvironment is known intotality by a handful ofpeople and organizationsespecially in Nigeria.

Obviously an academic, and a higher educationadministrator, is versed in the online, brick andmortar and blended learning educational processes(Teaching, Learning, Accreditation, QualityAssurance, etc). She has over 25 years’ experiencein this field with connections in and outside thecountry which gives her access to quality resourcepeople. She has spent the last seven years workingin the education industry in Nigeria.

She has a vast experience in designing online andHybrid courses for numerous platforms includingBlackboard, Moodle, D2L and of course VigiLearnwhich she helped to design and develop. She hasbeen teaching and designing courses in the ODLenvironment since 1997. She continues to designand teach online courses for the University ofWisconsin, Stout, USA, and Liberty University,Lynchburg Virginia, USA.

Professor Awosika has been working with some ofNigeria’s leading universities including ObafemiAwolowo University, Ile-Ife, Ahmadu BelloUniversity, Zaria and Babcock University, Ilisan-Remo, to train and design courses for their ODLprogrammes. She has trained hundreds of Nigerianlecturers, administrators and multimedia/ICT staffon the philosophy and techniques of eLearning,across these universities including NOUN.
