John Boyne – He was born on the 30th April 1971 in Ireland. He started to write when he was 19 and published his first book ten years later. He wrote this book in 2004. It was considered one of the best books ever written and has been sold in many countries.

I chose this excerpt because it talks about the friendship between the two boys. At the end it became stronger than ever before, although they didn’t realize the dangers they were facing.

I chose it because I like to learn about Germany, Nazism and the Second World War. This tragedy should never happen again.
