EOS, Earthwide Outreach by Students, promotes local,
regional, and international service learning. This club is
offered by Hanover College and gets students involved
in the betterment of the surrounding community as well
as foreign communities. This year Theta had three sisters
attend the mission trip to Guatemala. While there, these
women helped build a playground for children.
Volunteering more than twenty hours of their time each,
these Theta ladies worked to
make a difference in the lives
of those less fortunate. We are
truly lucky to have such
dedicated sisters!

Panhellenic WomenFor the past couple of years Theta has dominated the
Panhellenic Council, having the most girls from one
chapter. Out of the eight executive positions, three are held
by Thetas. Nu chapters Chief Marketing Officer, Kaitlin
Knapp, is the Vice President of Public Relations. Careen
Turner, a Junior Theta, is the Gamma Chi Director. And
our song chair, Sarah Gouker, is Panhellenics
Programming Director. All three of these women are very
dedicated and hard working. Kappa Alpha Theta truly
does breed strong leaders and her members are constantly
proving that as they strive to become active members in
the Hanover community.
Theta to Watch!
Lauren Harrison, a Freshman Theta, is
shaking up Hanover College. Upon
coming to Hanover in the fall, Lauren
knew that she wanted to make a
difference in the community. In order todo this she single handedly started a new
club, Adopt-A-Grandparent. Thornton
Terrace is a nearby nursing home with
quite a few residents. Inspiring her intoaction, Lauren decided to start a buddy
system to help integrate Hanover
students into this home.
Adopt-A-Grandparent was so successful
in its first year that it was awarded the
Outstanding Contribution to theCommunity award at the 2013 Student
Involvement Recognition Soiree. The
principals and responsibilities of
are an inspiration for me to continue my
lifelong pursuit of success. As a Theta, I
strive to be a supportive sister, goodstudent, and wish to gain leadership
experience within the house, as well as
through being an asset in assisting with
philanthropic events, Lauren Harrison.
Until the Violence StopsEvery year Hanover College hosts an event called the
Vagina Monologues, each monologue deals with an aspectof the feminine experience. Eight of our sisters directlyparticipated in this event, helping raise money andawareness for the Until the Violence Stops campaign.Careen Turner, a Junior Theta helped host the event and
states, seeing so many Thetas in leadership roles acrosscampus really encouraged me to want to do the same. This
years V-day event was an amazing experience and it was sonice to have so many sisters involved.

women into our sisterhood. Each new member is
dedicated to service and personal excellence, shows
leadership potential, and always strives for academic
excellence. We are confident that these women will
lead our fraternity in the right direction and will
wear our letters proudly.
100% of this years pledge class
