Calypso Cards is now publishing and distributing Curly Girl Design greeting cards! Wow!

In the 15 years since

I founded Calypso

Cards there have

been many proud

moments, but this

announcement holds

a very special place

in my heart.

Calypso Cards started business in 2004 as a card

distributor and launched at the National Stationery

Show that year, coincidentally the same time that

Leigh Standley first introduced Curly Girl Design. Since

then both our companies have grown and developed

each in its own way. Curly Girl Design branched into

various licensed products, while Calypso Cards has

focused on greeting cards, bringing in new lines and

growing into our own publishing program, working

with artists from around the world.

Neither Calypso Cards nor Curly Girl Design

could have come this far without the loyalty and

enthusiasm of our customers - and how far we have

come! It has been a complete joy to take the vision

of so many talented artists and deliver their finished

product to our faithful customers running stores all

over America. When I first met Leigh all those years

ago I could only have dreamt she would entrust us

with her thoughtful, endearing and charming line

– and I did dream! Curly Girl Design can now be

ordered alongside all your other Calypso brands,

invoiced and delivered together.

We both believe strongly in the power of the

written word to bring people together and

as I see this catalog laid out it is apparent

how well our brands complement each

other. Color plays an important role for both

of us and Leigh has a way with words that

gets to the crux of what needs to be said.

Her cards fit perfectly with Calypso’s mission

of “giving voice and style to everyone’s

desire to connect.”

In order to do both Curly Girl Design and

Calypso Cards justice I recommend continuing

to display the lines separately, as that will

have a greater impact on your customers and

result in stronger sales. We continue to offer

the same displays that we always have, and

you will see them all pictured at the back of

the catalog. Our recommended Icon display

comes in several configurations – 18, 48, 56,

72 and 80-pockets – and the pockets can be

ordered to accommodate Curly Girl Design’s

wider square cards, as shown here.

In the catalog, you will see Curly Girl Design

integrated into our occasions categories

where the card is an obvious fit for the

occasion. However, because these cards are

for people rather than occasions, we included

them all again after the occasions, organized

numerically as you are accustomed to.

Our annual catalog runs from May to May, with a supplement in January

and September.

British publisher Lagom Design has been awarded the license to

create greeting cards using the botanical images owned by the

Royal Botanical Gardens at Kew. A UNESCO World Heritage Site,

Kew Gardens is home to more than 30,000 different plant and seed

species from around the globe. It boasts the most diverse living

plant collection in the world and is dedicated to conservation.

Lagom Creative Director, Kelly Hyatt played with color to create

greeting cards that are bold and fresh, with the aim of inspiring the

viewer to see the botanical images through the eyes of those intrepid

explorers who first discovered the flowers and plants. Kew’s Quincy

Leon comments on the collaboration: “We love the contemporary

style of Lagom and we’re delighted with their design-led approach

which has produced such a modern greeting card collection.”

We work with display manufacturers to make sure you pay the best possible price, and we offset the cost with a 15% discount off the cards, making most displays free if cards are purchased in 12s. Cards may also be ordered in 6s, but in this case the product will only partially offset the total cost of the display.

All card displays ship with a branding header sign.

All cards are available with pocket headers to indicate the occasion; these ship automatically with a new display order. If you need them on an ongoing basis, please request.

Each pocket holds one dozen cards with envelopes. Wider pockets are available for square Curly Girl cards.
