Are you rich?
A simple request, “Teacher, tell my brother to divide the inheritance with me.”
Judgment granted, but differently than requested, “Man, who appointed me a judge or an arbiter between you?”
The main warning, “Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed…”
The main encouragement, “a man’s life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions.”
The illustration:• Of greed, “I, I, my, I’ll, I, my, I, my, my, I’ll,
myself”• Of misplaced understanding of the nature of
life, “Take life easy; eat, drink and be merry.”
• Of the terms of judgment, “But God said to him, ‘You fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself?’ This is how it will be with anyone who stores up things for himself but is not rich towards God.”
How can one be, “rich toward God” and avoid the death knell of greed?

ANGEL TREE Angel Tree is a ministry that shares Christ’s love with Messiah families in need. We provide Christmas gifts to those that may otherwise not have any. Wednesday December 3 you may begin choosing a nativity ornament from the Angel tree. This year the ornaments were painted by the 1st-4th grade Sunday School students! There is a
$25 limit for each gift/gift card. Please return your wrapped item under the tree no later than Wednesday, December 17th. MISSION CENTRAL Gary Thies to present at Christ Lutheran
Mr. Gary Thies, Mission Development Counselor with the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod, will speak on Saturday, November 29 f rom 7:00p-8:30p at Christ Lutheran Church, 4325 Sumner Street. Having traveled in 75 countries and spoken in more than 1500 churches, Gary will share exciting news of what is happening in missions in the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod.
