  • 2. Essential Qualifications

    10th Standard pass from a recognized Board/Institution.

    3. Job Profile

    Duties & responsibilities of the Tradesman Mate [erstwhile MTS (Industrial) /Unskilled Labourer] are as follows:-

    (a) Physical maintenance of records of section.(b) General cleanliness & upkeep of the Section/Unit.(c) Carrying of files & other papers within the building.(d) Photocopying, sending of FAX etc(e) Other non-clerical work in the Sections/Unit.(f) Assisting in routine office work like diary, dispatch etc. including on computer.(g) Delivering of Oak (inside & outside the Section/Unit)(h) Watch & ward duties.U) Opening & closing of rooms.(k) Cleaning of rooms.(I) Dusting of furniture etc.(m) Cleaning of building, fixture etc.(n) Driving of vehicles, if in possession of valid driving license(p) Upkeep of parks, lawns, potted plants etc.(q) Any other work assigned by superior authority.

    The above list of duties is only illustrative and not e.chaustiveSection/Department of the Naval Dockyard may add to the list, duties of similarnature ordinarily performed by officials at this level.

    4. Age Criteria / Relaxations

    Candidate should be between 18 and 25 Years unless provided relaxation, subject tosubmission of certificates as per Govt of India rules and are as, 'under (In case thecandidates fails to produce the certificate in the prescribed format' issued by competentauthority, his / her candidature will not be considered): "

    (a) SC/ST Category'" The upper age limit IS relaxable by OS year; againstvacancies reserved for them.

    (b) OBC (Non Creamy Layer) Category. The upper age limit is relaxable' by 03years against vacancies reserved for them.

    (c) PWD/PH Candidates. The upper age limit is relaxable by, 10 years (Total 15years for SCs/STs and 13 years for OBCs in respect of vacancies reserved for them.

    "(d) Government Servants The upper age limit is relaxable upto 35 years in,accordance with instructions or orders issued 9Y Central ,Government froni time totime. The aqe limit is further relaxable' by 5 years in the case of SC/ST and- 03 yearsfor persons belonging to Other Backward Classes (OBe) in' respect of the' postreserved for them. A candidate claiming to belong to the category of 'CentralGovernment Servant' and thus seeking age relaxation under this category would berequired to produced a certificate in the prescribed proforma, issued after the date ofadvertisement, from his / her employer, on the office letter he~d, to the effect that he/she is a regular appointed Central Government Servant and not on casual/adopted /daily basis / hourly paid / contract baSIS employee. These persons should also

  • furnish a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their employer, during verification ofdocuments / as and when asked for.

    (e) Ex-serviceman. The upper age limit in case of Ex-Servicemen shall berelaxed by the extent of service rendered in defence forces (Army, Navy, & Air Force)increased by three years, subject to the condition that on the closing date of receiptof application (i) the continuous service rendered in the Armed forces by an ex-serviceman is not less than six months after attestation and (ii) that the resultant ageafter deducting his period of service from his actual age does not exceed theprescribed age limit by more than 03 years. Ex-serviceman who have already joinedthe Govt Service on civil side after availing of other benefits given to them as Ex-serviceman for further employment cannot claim ex-serviceman status for thepurpose of this recruitment and such person will be deemed to be civil employee

    (f) Departmental Candidates. The age relaxation available for departmentalcandidates with three years of continuous service, shall be upto 40 yrs of age. (45years for SCs/STs). This concession is subject to the condition that the DirectRecruitment posts are in the same line or allied cadre and a relationship could beestablished that past service rendered in the department will be useful for efficientdischarge of duties in the other categories of posts. (These persons should furnish aNOC from their employer, during verification of documents / as and when asked for)

    (g) Sportspersons. The upper age limit can be relaxed upto a maximum of 05years (10 years for SC/ST communities and 08 years for OBC in respect of postreserved for them) may be allowed to meritorious Sportsmen/sportswomen In thefield of games/sports recognized by the government for such purpose, provided theysatisfy all other condition prescribed by the government from time to time

    (h) Widows, Divorced Women and Women 'judiciously se2..Ma!ed fromHusband. The upper age limit can be relaxed up till the age of 35 years 40 Yearsfor SC/ST and 38 Years for OBC in respect of post reserved forthem) for Widows,divorced women and women judiciously separated from their husband who are notremarried. The persons claiming age relaxation under this sub-para would berequired to produce following documentary evidence:

    (i) In case of widow, death certificate of her husband together with theAftidavitthat she has not remarried since.

    (ii) In case of divorced women judiciously separated from their husbands. acertificate copy of the judgment' Idecree of the appropriate court to pr~)Vethe factof divorce or the judicial the case may be with an affidav: in respectof divorced women and they have not remarried since.

    Note: The age limit will be calculated as on the closing date for submission of onlinerecruitment applications on the web site. Only matriculation / SSC certificates issuedby the concerned education board will be proof of date of birth.

    5. Mode of Selection. . .(a) Short listing. Mere possession of qualification(s). does not bestow theright for issue of call letter for participation in the recruitment process, Call letterswill be issued only for shortlisted candidates in the ratio of 1:25 to the numberof vacancies advertised, based on the marks J equivalent-qrade obtained in the10th standard. Call letter will be issued on the email ID., registered with NavalDockyard Mumbai via website other authorizedwebsite of Naval Dockyard I post.

  • (b) Written Examination. Shortlisted candidates are to appear for a writtenexamination consisting of 100 objective type questions prepared, based on io"standard syllabus comprising of General Science, Maths and General Knowledge,reasoning etc. The question paper will be provided in English and Hindi languageonly. Candidates may note that mere qualifying in written examination does notentitle them for appointment in the Naval Dockyard. The selection would be purelyprovisional and based on the position secured in written examination subject tosatisfying all other condition as specified by the Government of India.

    (c) Document Verification. A call letter along with attestation and medicalexamination forms will be sent to provisionally shortlisted candidates as per merit listdrawn strictly based on performance in written examination. Provisionally shortlistedcandidates are advised to carry self attested copies of following documents /certificates/ testimonials in support of Age, Educational/Technical Qualification, etcto the venue of examination or whenever asked for -
