In continuation of this Court's Notification No. 252 dated 21.10.2009 vide which

3 from General Category) were advertised, applications are further invited for selection

Note:- 1.The candidates who have already applied against 10 posts (5 fromScheduled Caste Category, 2 from Backward Class category and 3 fromGeneral. Category) advertised vide this Court's Notification No.252Gaz.lNI.F.2 dated 21.10.2009 need not apply afresh. However, in respect oftheir candidature, the Syllabus, Format and Mode of Examination given inthis notification shall apply in modification of earlier notification dated21.10.2009.

2. The candidature of the applicants who are gainfullyemployed with the Centralor any State Government as Law Officers shall be subject to the outcome ofS.L.Ps pending in this regard with the Hon'ble Supreme Court.

3.The syllabus, format of the written Examination and Instructions to thecandidates for the examination in the State of Haryana can be seen on the officialwebsite of the High Court i.e. http://highcourtchd.gov.in.

4. The applications must reach the Registrar General, High Court of Punjab andHaryana, Chandigarh on or before 5.5.2011 till5.00 p.m. Incomplete applicationsand applications received after-5.5.2011 shall not be entertained.

5. Out of the above mentioned 13 vacancies, 1 vacancy is anticipated vacancy,being advertised as per the judgment of the Hon'ble Supreme Court rendered inMalik Mazhar Sultan Vs. U.P. Public Service Commission and others reported in(2006) 9 Supreme Court Cases 507.

6. The selection would be on the basis of written examination of 750 marks andviva voce test of 250 marks, to be conducted by the High Court of Punjab andHaryana, Chandigarh.

7. The reservation for Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/Backward Classes shallbe in accordance with the policy/instructions issued by the Government ofHaryana from time to time.

8. The Scheduled Caste Candidate, if called for interview, shall be paid TravellingAllowance as per relevant instructions of the Haryana Government.

9. Candidates dismissed by the Central or any State Government or their Boardsor Corporation, shall not be eligible to apply for this post.

Committee regarding the eligibility of the candidates for admission to theexamination shall be final.

11. Success in the examination does not confer any right to appointment unlessthe Government in consultation with the High Court is satisfied after such enquiry,as may be considered necessary, that the candidate is suitable in all respects forappointment.

12. Candidates are required to submit attested copies of certificates. These willbe verified at the time of the viva-voce only. Candidates, therefore, should ensurethat they fulfill all the eligibility conditions for admission to the exam. Theiradmission to the examination will also, therefore, be purely provisional. If onverification at any stage, it is found that they do not fulfill any of the eligibilityconditions, their candidature will be liable to be cancelled. If any of their claims isfound to be incorrect at any stage, they shall also render themselves liable todisciplinary action by the High Court.

13. No claim that an application form has been lost or delayed in the post officewill be considered nor any representation against its rejection due to late receiptwill be entertained.

14. The preliminary and the main written examination and the Viva-voce shall beconducted in English medium except the language paper.

15. The candidature of the applicants would be provisional subject to thefulfillment of eligibility criteria of age, educational qualification, nationality etc. asper relevant Rules and instructions issued by the Government.

16. All communications in respect of the applications should be addressed to theRegistrar (Recruitment), High Court of Punjab and Haryana, Chandigarh andshould contain the following particulars:-

17. Each application must be accompanied by:-

a) Examination Fee of RS.1000/- (Rs. One thousand only) for GeneralCategory candidates and Rs.500/-(Rs. Five hundred only) for SC/ST/BCcandidates by way of Demand Draft in favour of the Registrar General, HighCourt of Punjab and Haryana, Chandigarh payable at Chandigarh.

b)Three recent and identical passport size photographs, duly signed by thecandidate and attested by a Gazetted Officer (one to be pasted on the topright hand corner of the application form and others to be tagged with theapplication form)

c)Two character certificates from two respectable persons (one of whichmust be issued by the President/Secretary of the Bar Association where thecandidate is practising).

18. No candidate willbe called for the viva voce unless he obtains 40% marks ineach paper and 50% marks (read 45% for the SC/BC category candidates) in theaggregate. Further, no candidate willbe considered to have successfully qualifiedthe Haryana Superior Judicial Services Examination unless he obtains 50% marks(read 45% marks for the SC/BC category candidates) in the aggregate out of thetotal marks of the written examination and viva voce. It is made clear that meresecuring of 50% marks (read 45% for the SC/BC category candidates) in thewritten examination willnot confer a right on a candidate to be called for the vivavoce. The High Court may short-list the candidates equal to 3 times the number ofvacancies to be called for the viva voce. It is also made clear that no candidatewill get the right to be appointed even if helshe obtains 50% marks (read 45%marks for the SC/BC category candidates) in the aggregate of the writtenexamination and viva voce. However, candidates willbe appointed strictly in theorder of merit (category wise) in which they are placed after the result of writtenexamination and viva voce.

19. The last date for submissipn of application forms for the Advocates enrolledwith the District/Sub-Divisional Bar Associations of Punjab, Haryana and U.T.,Chandigarh is 30.4.2011. Allsuch Advocates willsubmit the application forms inthe office of District and Sessions Judges concerned. However, all others willsend/submit the application forms directly to the Registrar General, High Court ofPunjab and Haryana, Chandigarh in an envolope superscribed as "Application forthe post of Additional District Judge in the State of Haryana" on or before5.5.2011 by 5.00 P.M.BYORDER OF HON'BLETHE CHIEF JUSTICE ANDJUDGES.
