Maximum number of participants: 20

Cost for course:

£100 for those schools who are part of the

North Wiltshire Federation.

£150 for those who are outside of the North Wiltshire Federation

AIMS OF THE PROGRAMME:

To participate in discussions about Senior Leadership with colleagues from different schools

To gain experience of tools, techniques and skills that make a good senior leader To reflect on current leadership experience and skills and areas for development To engage in a whole school-based project which further refines leadership skills

SESSION 1:

Wednesday 08 November 2017 12.30pm – 4.00pm

What makes a good Senior Leader? Differences between Middle and Senior Leaders Venue: Abbeyfield School Leader(s): Helen Carpenter / David Clarke

SESSION 2:

Wednesday 17 January 2018 12.30pm – 4.00pm

What roles do Senior Leaders have? Types of role and routes into Senior Leadership Venue: Hardenhuish School Leader(s): David Clarke, Neil Spurdell, Nicola Brooks and Mel Collingbourne SESSION 3:

Wednesday 14 March 2018 12.30pm – 4.00pm

Applying for Senior Leadership roles and getting that job!! Venue: RWBA Leader(s): Alison Simpson / Steven Paddock SESSION 4a:

April 2018

1 day – Overview of Strategic Senior Leadership in host school & coaching session – to be arranged with host School Venue: Host school (TBA)

½ day – Student pursuit or professional research in own school to inform whole school-based project Venue: Participant’s school SESSION 5:
