U.S Casualties and Soldiers Wounded

As of March 16, 2010, there have been 4,388 American casualties during the Iraqi War.

So far, there have been 31,716 soldiers wounded since the start of the war.

Economic Costs of War

So far for the war in Iraq, the U.S. Government has spent a total of around 712.5 billion dollars.

U.S. Military

Currently there are 98,000 soldiers on the ground in Iraq.

President Obama has ordered all but 50,000 troops to leave Iraq by August 31, 2010

Iraqi Casualties

The total documented civilian deaths from the violence is estimated at 95,641- 104,340

Current Iraqi Government

There is a parliamentary democracy with a federal system of government.

The 2005 Iraqi Constitution guarantees basic human rights.

Run by The Presidency Council consisting of one president, and 2 vice presidents (elected by the Council of Representatives) and a council of Ministers.

Iraqi Military The New Iraqi Army’s primary

responsibility would be border control. This new army will be much smaller than that of Saddam Hussein, and mostly in charge of defense.

Excluded from New Iraqi Army include: Former persons from regime security

organizations Intel organizations Special Republican Guards SSO Ba'ath Party security and militia organizations Top-level Ba'ath Party members
