Model Number: D3300 Kit" The camera and lenses seem to be excellent, as advertised! However, the included"Training DVD" is mostly a joke. Half of it is just a sales pitch for other Nikonproducts/accessories. There are three brief sections on using A and S modes, takingmovies, and bringing attention to your subject. But a "Nikon School InstructionalDVD"? No way! "

Great picture quality but lacks a few key features

" I've had this camera a little over a year and have been very impressed with theimage quality. Battery life has been better than the 700 shots per charge advertised;I recently took > 1400 shots on a single charge (I don't use live view so that mayhelp). I haven't tried the wireless feature so I won't comment on that.It's a great camera for static subjects, but there are a couple large drawbacks fortaking pictures of moving objects, especially fast moving objects like my son. Thereare only 11 autofocus points and I've found that I have to spend time recomposing andhunting or I get out‐of‐focus pictures a significant amount of the time with a movingsubject (more pictures are still in focus than not, however). Similarly, this seems tobe one of the only dslr or mirrorless cameras with no auto‐bracketing. This isn't a bigdeal for photographing scenes that don't quickly change as it's pretty easy to changethe exposure compensation manually, but again, with moving subjects it feels like asignificant loss. I believe both these issues are fixed with one step up to theD5300/5500 camera (39 auto‐focus points vs. 11), so you might consider moving up astep if things like auto‐bracketing and more auto‐focus points are likely to beimportant. "

Low budget great DSLR but horrible wifi dongle
Pros: good camera good price good featuresCons: horrible wi‐fi features that don't really work
Model Number: D3300" When I purchased this camera, I was new to DSLR's. The several desirable and easyto learn features make it great for the novice. If you are not interested in wi‐fifeatures this is a great camera. My problem is, I was, and I still am, interested in wi‐fi features. The camera does not have wi‐fi built in, but the Costco package comeswith a manufacturer accessory dongle. It allows you to connect the camera to andcontrol it from your mobile phone or tablet. I didn't use the camera much since Ipurchased it, but in the first couple months I started experiencing difficulties withthe wi‐fi device. For some reason it can't maintain its connection to my phone ortablet long enough to get anything done. I thought the problem was with my phoneor tablet, but they both worked with the dongle at first and neither one works with itnow. Additionally, although my phone and tablet are Android devices, they're madeby different manufacturers. Literally the device connects and disconnects in a matterof a few seconds. This is such a HUGE dissapointment! Nikon should have neverreleased these defective dongles. "

Great value with quality

We havebeen playing with all of the functions, which there are many, and it's amazing whatthis camera is capable of doing and we are still learning about. However, theproblem is, if you never used a camera like this in the past, you definately will needto either watch a video or read a little info befor you start...little things like how toconnect the lense. Once you get the hang of it, you really will love what you will getfrom this camera. It's definately worth the money. "
