Mysterious – The Invisible Switch from Niko
The antidote to wall switches, Niko’s award-winning latest
innovation is a virtually invisible wall switch.
Using Niko’s Mysterious Switch, the wall is left to look
as if it is completely free of any switches, except in the
dark, when there is a subtle glow of LEDs surrounding the
embedded switch to guide users towards it.
A simple round push-button that is embedded into the wall,
Mysterious is so robust and fl exible that it can be covered in
the same material as the rest of the wall to seamlessly blend
in. Whether your choice of wallcovering is wallpaper, paint,
or even panelling, the Mysterious Switch from Niko can
blend in completely.
A single press switches it on, with the top half and the
bottom half having different instructions.
There is a matching orientation lighting system using blue or
white LEDs to guide your way without the need for more
conventional lighting, which is activated either by a switch
or motion sensor.
Blending in with traditional and modern interiors,
Mysterious is the ultimate for subtle good taste in every
living environment.
All of Niko’s switches work off of our Nikobus system. A totally fl exible approach to Home Automation,
Nikobus is easily installed, easily programmed and easily expanded - allowing for design, planning, and easy
programming with or without a PC.
Although each control module contains a bus power supply, only one of these power supplies is active for
the entire installation – with the others taking over automatically should a defect occur with the fi rst bus
power supply. This guarantees that the Nikobus keeps working at all times.
In the fi eld of lighting control and home automation, Niko provides a ‘Feature-Full’ system.

The Red Dot Design AwardNiko were proud winners of the Red Dot Design Award
2009, for its range of Mysterious switches.
The Red Dot Design Award is the world’s biggest and
most distinguished design competition, which is only
granted to exceptionally creative, innovative and high-
quality products.
Each year an international jury reviews and evaluates the
submitted products according to criteria such as degree
of innovation, functionality and quality; this ensures
the seriousness of the competition and its international
acceptance.
The group of jurors is made up of renowned designers and
design experts from all over the world who reach their
decisions on which designs are good enough to receive a
Red Dot Award independently and impartially.
With previous winners including Pirelli, Maserati, Google,
