A simplistic, clean cut approach is taken to highlight the organic elements of the brand. The mix of compassionate pink and pro-environment green leaves creates a comforting ambience. Coupled with an eathern shade of ma-roon for the tree’s body, the harmony of foliage and trunk simulates the stability and reliability of Mother Earth. The linkage between the leaves and tree body displays the process of nutrients being materialized into the product from wholly organic minerals.

CHIp a MeaL

Inspired by the idea of caring for the poor through the well known Suspended Coffee project in Naples, Chip a Meal aims to get Singaporeans helping the poor and needy by chipping in a meal for them.

Hawker center stall holders who are supportive of this project will customise a dollar’s worth of food that customers could order for the needy. Customers who wish to partake in this project simply donate a dollar to “chip a meal”. In return, a chip (wood disc) would be put into a glass jar, which the poor and needy can redeem from.

Voluntary welfare organisations have been contacted to raise awareness of such a project. They will be going to par-ticipating hawkers at the end of the day to collect and distribute surplus to the physically handicapped.

Inspired by the many “fine” methods to maintain law and order in Singapore, the organiser was designed to let us-ers wield “authority” for once instead of being on the receiving end. With a customisable front cover, the organiser makes a fun corporate or personal gift idea. A perforated edge to tear off every week mimics how a parking warden issues summons.

A Final Year Project of the Bachelor of Fine Arts in Visual Communication at NTU, Get Sexed, is a card game target-ed at the decision-making processes of teenagers when sex relation situations are encountered. With the ultimate goal of aiding them to make well-informed decisions relating to sex, Get Sexed has been a success story with its local players.

A showcase by the Art, Design, Media and Technology (ADMT) department, the 'Basic Architecture: Architectural Design' exhibit was done with the following objectives:

• To enable students to apply systemic thinking through architectural works, with considerations being made of, the environment as well as other demographic and geographical factors

• To sharpen the students' visual com-munication skills, through the production of digital presentation boards

Each Year 2 student was given the task and theme of working on an

architectural (re)design project, with the following 3 deliverables: a design journal, a virtual model and a set of digital presentation boards.

The locations to design vary with each year, as relevance and authenticity are taken into account.Credits: • http://conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?142513-High-school-adventures-(Coffee-and-donuts-July-2!)/page8

A showcase by the Art, Design, Media and Technology (ADMT) department, 'The Elderly Challenge' exhibit was done with the following objectives:

• For students to propose an elderly-friendly product experience.

• To create awareness of elderly-centric challenges through exposing them to the contextual challenges they face in a developed society like Singapore.

Elements of innovation, entrepreneur-ship and media literacy are also

encouraged to give the SST student a holistic approach to the idea of Applied Learning.

These works are the culmination of the students' paired and group efforts in uncovering their understanding and application of the Challenge-Based Learning (CBL) framework of the theme 'The Elderly Challenge'.

Foods to eat:Seafood and lean meat are rich in zinc, which helps with skin growth and maintenance of collagen and elastin.

Foods to avoid:Sugary snacks and drinks, glucose in bloodstream sets off a process which weakens the skin’s elastin – making it prone to wrinkles.

Recommendation:During office hours, try a simple eye massage to improve your blood circulation and prevent dark circles.

Foods to eat:A low-glycemic diet, which consists of more whole grains, protein and produce, may reduce acne.

Foods to avoid:Refined carbs like white bread and white rice increases insulin secretion in the body, resulting in increased sebum secretion and inflammatory responses that lead to acne eruptions.

Recommendation:Any regular exercise for at least 20 minutes, 3 times a week, regulates the productionof testosterone-related hormones that are part of acne flare-ups.

Foods to eat:Soybeans, olive oil, oily fish (mackerel, salmon), nuts (almonds, hazelnuts), avocado and flax seeds contain Omega 3 and 6, which limit water loss in skin.

Foods to avoid:Diuretic drinks like coffee and tea, which lead to increased water loss.

Recommendation:While swimming is a great low-impact sport, chlorine from the pool can dry your skin. So make sure you cleanse your face thoroughly after each session in a pool, and moisturise your skin.

Foods to eat:Dark leafy green and red vegetables are full of antioxidant beta-carotene, which regulates cell production and turnover for smoother, more radiant skin.

Foods to avoid:Processed meats are high in salt and preservatives which leach moisture from your skin, leaving it dull and lifeless.

Recommendation:When you’re out basking in the sun, don’t forget to slap on your sunblock, of at least SPF30 to protect your skin from harmful UV rays.
