Good Things Come

Patience and perseverance have a magical effect before which difficulties disappear and obstacles vanish.

~John Quincy Adams~

Success in any worthwhile endeavor doesn’t generally come overnight. Stay focused on your vision, and don’t allow obstacles to deter you from your goal. Have faith in the end result to be achieved from your efforts, and with patience and perseverance, you will most assuredly see it made manifest in your life.

Be assured and understand that the trial and proving of your faith bring out endurance and steadfastness and patience. But let endurance and steadfastness and patience have full play and do a thorough work, so that you may be people perfectly and fully developed with no defects, lacking in nothing.

~James 1:3,4 (Amp)~

Moreover let us also be full of joy now! Let us exult and triumph in our troubles and rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that pressure and affliction and hardship produce patient and unswerving endurance. And endurance (fortitude) develops maturity of character. And character of this sort produces the habit of joyful and confident hope

~Romans 5:3,4 (Amp)~

Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise

~Hebrews 10:35,36 (NKJV)~

Gene Lamb - Complete healing after eye surgery.

Leo Hall - For Joshua to make better choices.

Janet Covert - For physical healing.

Trisha Pride - Continued prayer for healing of her eye.

Think Cool! Think Harvest Moon! It’s been an unbelievably hot summer! The good news is that fall is just around the corner and that means Harvest Moon at Faith. Harvest Moon is scheduled for Saturday, October 1st. The committee has been signing up vendors and getting ready for another successful event. It can’t happen without you. Please be thinking about what you will contribute to this year’s event. There is already a call for books, baked goods will be needed, entertainment for our lunch guests is being arranged and most important, we need volunteers to make it all happen. The last Sunday of August we started signing up volunteers in the Great Hall before and after the 9:40 service. Come by and sign up this Sunday! I guarantee there is an opportunity that needs your special talents. Remember: Think Cool! Think Harvest Moon!

United Methodist Women are collecting books for Harvest Moon. It is only a few months away. Clean out those book shelves, closets, under beds, wherever you keep those books you have read. Blue book bins will be located near both entrances to the church. All money goes for Missions. Your donations are greatly appreciated.

Will you open up your hearts, minds and address books? The Faith United Employment. Ministry kicked off last Sunday with a servant moment. We shared who we are, why we have formed and who we can help. The great thing is that the congregation will have the chance to help us create an

internal network directory. You will see a form in your bulletins over the next few weekends allowing you to be a part of this directory. Our team would love to learn more about you, your experiences and connections. Whether you are new to the workforce, a stay at home parent, mid stream in your career or retired…everyone has something to offer! Please consider learning more about this internal network directory and fill out those forms in the bulletin. For more information on the Faith United Employment Ministry or to join our volunteer team, please contact Jennifer Lyon at 918-586-7802 or [email protected]
