Canada ranks near bottom on UNICEF's 'fairness' report card Canada's poorest children are falling further behind, according to a

UNICEF report card that ranks the country in the bottom third

among OECD and EU nations when it comes to inequality in the

well-being of its youngest citizens.

UNICEF's Fairness for Children report card, released Thursday,

ranks Canada 26 out of 35 affluent nations. The report also notes

that gaps in children‘s health and education have widened since

2013, when Canada ranked 17 among 29 rich countries.

"One of the troubles is, in Canada, we assume that because we're in the top 10 wealthiest

countries in the world, that the wealth will translate into a better life experience for children.

And it's just not good enough," UNICEF Canada's President David Morley told CTV News

India defeated Pakistan by 5-1 in Azlan Shah Cup India thrown out rivals Pakistan by 5-1 with SV Sunil striking twice

in a round-robin league match of the Sultan Azlan Cup hockey

tournament this year.

After their scrappy win over Canada in the last match, the Indians

rose to the occasion and looked more orgainsed and purposeful

against Pakistan.

Rupinder Pal Singh converted a penalty corner in the 54th minute

to make the scoreline 5-1.

It took India just four minute to take the lead through Manpreet Singh, who scored with a

fierce reverse shot from a tight angle after being fed by Sunil.

But Pakistan equalised three minutes later when skipper Muhammad Irfan (7th minute)

converted the second of their successive penalty corners.

India restored their lead in the 10th minute through Sunil, who scored with a deft touch off

Manpreet's shot from outside the circle.

It was all India after the change of ends as they pumped in as many as three goals to run

away with the match.

The final scoreline could have been more impressive for India had Rupinder not missed a

penalty stroke in the final five minutes of the match.
