ARTIST & INFO

Hometown: Philippines

On first glance, looks like any other teenager: pretty, petite and filled with non stop energy. But when theCharicesweet-faced 17-year old opens her mouth to sing - with a profound, rich and soaring 10 decibel voice from every inch ofher 5 feet 1 inch body - the audience quite literally gasps.

In 2007, a web-savvy fan began posting a series of Charice's performances on YouTube including appearances on theFilipino talent show "Little Big Star" and the popular South Korean talent show "Star King." She instantly became anauthentic internet sensation attracting the attention of American TV shows. Appearances on the Ellen DeGeneres Showwere followed by several performances on the Oprah Winfrey Show.  "You are a force to be reckoned with. That voicecomes from something bigger than yourself," raved Oprah.

Enter 15-time Grammy winning producer David Foster who invited Charice to perform on his David Foster and FriendsPBS Show in Las Vegas alongside such star studded Foster produced talents as Michael Bublé, Celine Dion, AndreaBocelli, and Josh Groban. When the "David Foster and Friends" show returned to the Mandalay Bay the following year,Charice received no less than six standing ovations. In between the two Vegas appearances, Charice went on to performwith Andrea Bocelli ("The Prayer") in Tuscany and Celine Dion at her Madison Square Garden show in New York City.

During Charice's most recent appearance on Oprah Winfrey, her heart stopping song "Note To God" written bymulti-Grammy winning songwriter Diane Warren became an instant Top 10 hit on iTunes. Charice also had a featured rolein the recent "Alvin and the Chipmunks" movie.

ALBUM FACTS

Genre: Rock  Rob Schnapf Producers:

is a bold album that bolts out of the gate with an enveloping sound capable of filling largeDescription: On Approachspaces, both in the outside world and between one's ears. In broad strokes, it hits the sweet spot between stratospheric, stadium size rock and gorgeous, emotionally charged pop craftsmanship. From infectious and thumping opener "Let Go"through heavy rocker "I've Had This Feeling Before," the sweet humming, "Keeping The Score," the naked romance of"Dots," the haunting, spacious roots rock of "East Illinois" and "Fallen Feather," and culminating in the boiling over cascadeof closer "Catalyst," On Approach moves with a focused, switched-on intensity that announces the arrival of one of themost engaged rock units today.

isn't just an assemblage of random tracks, but a classic two-sider vinyl kind of album, where the fullOn Approachresonance and weight of it can only be felt by taking the full ride. Everest is this sort of band, too, one that strives forsomething more than three-minutes in the spotlight. These guys are lifers and the music they make is built for lifetimes, maintaining some elusive core that rewards one with each new spin.

With guitars that range from bright and chiming to tense and meandering, harmonies that are both delicate and pastoral, and Pollard's gentle, hazy vocals, On Approach is indeed reminiscent of a bygone era, a time before the Internet, whenalbums were still an art form and stories were told on vinyl. But as it exudes timelessness, as it ebbs from rustic groovesinto hushed lullabies, it also asserts itself as something very of the here and now - something that is more than the sum ofits parts.

Often descriptions of bands fall into the equation of "this well known group plus this other established act plus a fewadjectives." But some bands defy this shorthand, offering something so pure & true that its roots aren't apparent. Everest isthis sort, taking us down to foundational rock truths with an easy glide and expansive vision. While one can draw someclues from the folks they've toured with - Neil Young, Wilco, My Morning Jacket - ultimately is simply a great rockEverest‘n' roll band in the classic, open-minded mold, something boldly apparent on their sophomore release, .On Approach

ARTIST & INFO

One of the most innovative and often misunderstood bands, Devo took its name from their concept of "de-evolution" -- theidea that instead of evolving, mankind has actually regressed, as evidenced by the dysfunction and herd mentality ofAmerican society. Their music echoed this view of society as rigid, repressive, and mechanical, with appropriate touches --jerky, robotic rhythms; an obsession with technology and electronics (the group was among the first non-prog rock bandsto make the synthesizer a core element); and often atonal melodies and chord progressions.

DEVO have signed a unique, ground-breaking worldwide partnership with their original label home Warner Bros. Recordsthat exhibits the band's long-time commitment to innovation in all aspects of their career. In the '80s, the band put the"new" in the music revolution labeled "New Wave" with their synergistic mix of electronic rock, unparalleled theatrical liveshows, and self-directed, groundbreaking music-videos - creating a multi-media art assault that resonates in contemporarypop culture.

MARKETING POINTS

Warner Bros. Records released six of DEVO's classic albums between the years of 1978 and 1984. To mark theInfo:band's new deal, the label will reissue deluxe CD and limited-edition colored vinyl versions of DEVO's 1978's gold debut Q:Are We Not Men? ARTIST & INFO

Hometown: Calabasas, CA

For the past 35 years, the man born Marvin Lee Aday has been a towering monument on the musical landscape. Hislegendary 1977 album Bat Out Of Hell transformed this former high school football player, nightclub bouncer and stageactor into one of the great American rock 'n' roll icons. That record, with its staggering operatic sound and impassionedvocals, has sold more than 43 million albums worldwide - still one of the biggest-selling records of all time.

Now, more than 30 years after he exploded onto the world stage, Meat Loaf is back with a new record, Hang Cool TeddyBear (a title taken from a line in the classic Russ Meyer trash movie "Beyond The Valley Of The Dolls").

From opener"Peace On Earth" to closer "Elvis In Vegas," its 13 tracks drag the classic Meat Loaf sound kicking and screaming into the21st century.

Genre: Rock  Produced by The Black Keys and Mark Neill and Danger Mouse  ModernProducers: Radio Formats:Rock, Rock, AAA, Non-comm, College  4/0 digipak, 24-panel 4/4 folding poster Packaging Specs:

Description:

The maturation of the Black Keys as record makers and performers has been both subtle and startling. With their 2008Nonesuch release Attack & Release - the fifth album of their eight-year career which doubled the sales of their previousalbum and Nonesuch debut Magic Potion - guitarist Dan Auerbach and drummer Patrick Carney illustrated the durability oftheir few-frills sound, a mysterious and heavy brew of seventies-vintage rock, classic R&B and timeless, downheartedblues.  Producer and pal Danger Mouse, their first outside collaborator, didn't try to reinvent their sound but further isolatedits essence with the help of a few carefully chosen guest players and some retro-modern electronic gear. It didn't need toget slicker to get better, or, as the Boston Globe put it, "Attack & Release proves that cleaning up the boys still won't stopthem from tracking mud all over the house."

Danger Mouse returned to co-produce "Tighten Up" on Brothers, but for the most part, the duo was on its own, spendingten days at the legendary Muscle Shoals studio in Alabama and coming up with the an even more intensely focused, deeply soulful set that includes a cover of Jerry Butler's "Never Gonna Give You Up." The performances are inventive andimpassioned: Auerbach extends his vocal range to falsetto on lead-off track "Everlasting Light" and "The Only One";"Howlin' For You" opens with a Gary Glitter-style drum riff and the chorus practically invites singing along. The tunes offera surprising amount of lyrical candor and more than a little dark humor; the grooves alternate between ballsy swagger andbluesy rumination. The album reflects where Auerbach and Carney have been lately, most recently collaborating with awho's who of New York City MC's, including RZA, Q Tip, Mos Def and Raekwon on the 2009 BlakRoc super-sessionorganized by hip-hop impresario and Black Keys fan Damon Dash. They've also pursued projects on their own, Auerbachwith his solo Keep It Hid album and tour, Carney with his band Drummer and its debut disc, Feels Good Together. Theirmaturation didn't happen just in the studio, though. Carney admits, "Dan and I grew up a lot as individuals and musiciansprior to making this album. Our relationship was tested in many ways but at the end of the day, we're brothers, and I thinkthese songs reflect that."

Brothers was primarily cut in Muscle Shoals, a setting that turned out to have more in common with the Akron, Ohiofactories where the Black Keys used to record. The place was desolate, the town depressed, so once again the duoslipped into a world all its own. They did additional recording at Auerbach's Easy Eye Sound System in Akron and TheBunker in Brooklyn. The album was mixed by engineer Tchad Blake, a veteran of sessions with Los Lobos, Pearl Jam andPeter Gabriel. Says Carney, "The way he approaches mixing is the same way we approach making music. Respecting thepast while being in the present.."

ARTIST & INFO

Hometown: Oakland, California

Childhood friends Billie Joe Armstrong (guitar, vocals) and Mike Dirnt (bass) formed their first band, Sweet Children, inRodeo, California when they were 14 years old. By 1989, the newly renamed Green Day independently released their firstEP, 1,000 Hours, which was well-received in the punk scene. Soon, the group had signed a contract with the localindependent label, Lookout! Records. 39/Smooth, Green Day's first album, was released later that year. Shortly after itsrelease, the band found their permanent drummer, Tre Cool.

Throughout the early '90s, Green Day continued to cultivate a cult following, which only gained strength with the release oftheir second album, 1992's Kerplunk. The underground success led to a wave of interest from major record labels; and theband eventually signed with Reprise.

TALIB KWELI AND HI-TEK REUNITE AS REFLECTION ETERNAL FOR    REVOLUTIONS PER MINUTE OUT MAY 18

Official Press Release:

After 10-years since their classic contribution Train of Thought sealed their fates in hip-hop lore, Talib Kweli and Hi-Tek arereleasing their follow-up venture Revolutions Per Minute May 18 on Blacksmith/Warner Bros. Records. With their firstcollaboration praised for its uplifting messages and nostalgic soundscape, Kweli's command of the mic and Hi-Tek'sversatile production skills have made this album one of the most anticipated hip-hop albumsof 2010. The Source Magazinegave Revolutions Per Minute an early 4½ mic review in their March 2010 issue stating that, "While Train of Thought placedHip-Hoppers into a soulful, spiritual trance that could be likened to Tribe's Low End Theory, Revolutions Per Minute adoptsa modern Public Enemy timbre with lyrical grace and production that doesn't alienate."

In This World

Aside from the denotative meaning-the number of times a record can go around on a record player-Talib Kweli explainsthe title is two-fold: "It's the idea of revolution through music. It's the idea that people in today's culture take things inYouTube-sized bites and clips and if it's not in a clip or a soundbite or something that you can fit in under a minute, peopledon't pay attention to it. The idea is: How many revolutions can you get accomplished in under a minute in a quickculture?"

Exclusively produced by Hi-Tek, features on the album include appearances by Estelle, Bilal, Bun B, Mos Def, JayElectronica, J. Cole, Res and Chester French. The album covers an array of topics that discuss the shortcomings ofAmerica ("Strangers"), society's obsession with fame ("Got Work"), an honest discussion of drug use ("Lift'in Off"), thepining for a lover returning home ("Midnight Hour"), a music history lesson ("In the Red"), and even a track about Nigeria'scorruption-riddled oil business ("Black Gold").

This kind of entertainment with real world application manifests itself on the album's first single "In This World."Accompanied by Hi-Tek's pulsating bass and a gripping soul sample, Kweli contemplates success and the infiniteobstacles that prove burdensome to its maturation with a resounding co-sign from Jay-Z.

In their time off since, Hi-Tek and Kweli kept busy with a number of projects, collaborations and releases making themsome of the most sought after talents in hip-hop. Fans got a chance to catch the duo back in action during 2009's Rock theBells tour where they toured along heavyweights such as Nas, Damian Marley, Ice Cube, KRS-One, and The Rootsamongst others. Shortly after the New Year, Reflection Eternal released The RE:Union Mixtape, an a workof new and oldmaterial that would serve as a prelude to what listeners can expect from the full LP.

A: We Are Devo! and 1980's platinum favorite Freedom of Choice, as well as a seven-inch vinyl singleof "Jocko Homo/Mongoloid" on November 3rd.

The day the reissues are released, DEVO will launch a series of very special live performances in select markets (LosAngeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Chicago, Washington D.C., New York City, and Toronto), during which they will playback-to-back nights in each city. One the first night, the band will perform Are We Not Men? in its entirety; on the secondnight, they will perform Freedom of Choice in its entirety. As a bonus, fans who purchase tickets online to any one of theseconcerts will receive three demos recently uncovered in the DEVO vaults. The three previously unreleased versions, "WhipIt," "Red Shark" (later re-titled "It's Not Right" and recorded with different lyrics), and "Turn Around," were all recorded on afour-track in the band's rehearsal space at Modern Music in Hollywood, CA.
