is a rare chemical concoction of inert and light.

Who?• Neon was discovered in 1898 by

Scottish chemist William Ramsay and English chemist Morris Travers. They discovered it when they cooled down a piece of atmosphere until it became liquid. They discovered three gases, krypton, xenon and of course, Neon.

Uses of Neon

• 1)Neon lights! People put neon behind a colored glass, which makes the brightness shine through, making it look colorful.

Uses of Neon2) Fluorescent lamps. People put neon

in fluorescent lamps, because neon really stands out in the dark, and you use lamps when it is dark.

Uses of neon• 3) Neon is also used for indicator

lights in cars. The Neon is bright and eye catching when they put it behind a color lens, showing other cars when a car is indicating.

Appearance• Although people think that neon is a

bright color like green or yellow, they are wrong. Neon is an odorless, very bright, colorless light.
