Negative Impacts of Tourism:

Damage to the landscape: Tourism can also degrade an environment. Visitors generate

waste and pollution (air, water, solid waste, noise, and

visual). Natural resource attractions can be jeopardized

through improper uses or overuse.

Traffic congestion and pollution: Tourism can create auto congestion on local public

transportation (bus, trolley, cab, shuttle, train) and alternative transportation corridors (bicycle,

pedestrian). Pollution is obvious when people are not conscious of the ecological balance and

litter.

Increase in living cost: Demand for holiday homes makes housing too expensive for local

people. The Local goods can become expensive as well.
