176 THE GEORGIA HISTORICAL QUARTERLY.
NECROLOGY.
HENRY C. CUNNINGHAM.
Early in the morning of May 9th, Mr. Henry C. Cun- ningham, who held continuous membership in the Georgia Historical Society since the 3rd of September, 1866, departed this life. From the day of his election until within a few weeks of his demise he was an active participant in all of the Society's affairs. He was for many years a member of the Board of Curators. He took unflagging interest in the Telfair Academy of Arts and Sciences of which the Society is the trustee. He will be greatly missed. It will be hard to fill the vacancy caused by his death. Truly it may be said that in him there was
"A combination and a form indeed Where every god did seem to set his seal To give the world assurance of a man."
