about the earthquake:

• The earthquake that has struck Haiti on the 12th of January has measured up to 7.3 on the Richster scale.. It has affected a population of 2.2 million In the capital Port-au-Prince, the earthquake has been destroying buildings, plus more importantly cutting off their communications. A lot of people around the world have helped Haiti to rebuild and get restarted. Red Cross has gave 105 million Francs to assist 300,000 people in Haiti for three years.

Social impact

• First before when the earthquake has happened there was no estimation of the people that have died from it, but after the people have gone to Haiti to help them, they have confirmed how many people have died which was 180,000 then 200,000 is the estimation of the people that died, and over 1 million who are homeless.

Economic impact

• The economic impact is that before the earthquake has struck, Haiti’s economy was in real progress, since they have needed assistance from the united states U.S they had a good supply of young workers, that helped them boost there supply.

• Haiti has a rally small economy and it is the poorest country in the western hemisphere with a GDP of $11.570 billion and $1,317 per person. Haiti is the 17th largest supplier of exports. It exports a total of $424 million between the months January and October.

Political impact

• The political and financial leaders from all around the world have gone to a meeting which the leaders have spoke. They were talking about how they will help Haiti. Their goal is to restart building the places and rebuilding their business and encouraging guarantees for the banking sector.

• Environmental impact:• The biggest issue in Haiti is building waste; during the

earthquake more than 40 of the buildings collapsed in Port-au-Prince. Since they have access to propane, they UNEP has hoped that it will help them to star reforestation and investments in renewable energy.

Possible solutions

• If there is an earthquake in the future, they could prepare them selves by having stronger buildings and they could have safe places to hide from them. People should have gone there right after it has happened but they haven't, they have gone a while after so if they have gone right after it happened they could have saved lives and the death rate would have been lesser.
