This earthquake happened on the 4th of September at 4:17am 2010.

What is it?

An Earthquake is a large shaking movement

In the ground caused by tectonic plates. It Happens when the

tectonic plates collide Together. It opens big cracks in the ground.

This Earthquake happened in Christchurch

The most affected places were Kaiapo, the Main city in Christchurch and many

Churches. Thankfully nobody died on this horrible Occasion.

What damage did it do?

The Earthquake made buildings fall it ruined

Houses and it ruined peoples lives. There

Were 100,000 damaged houses and

buildings.

How did people react?Some people moved

away from Christchurch and some

people have justBeen cleaning up. Even

the army and Collage students are

helping out to clean the

Streets and help where ever help is needed.
