NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC LAUNCHES NATION-WIDE LIVE CURIOUS QUIZ NIGHTS (August 11, 2010) – National Geographic Channel today announced the launch of Live Curious Quiz Nights across Australia, designed to help community organisations raise money. Live Curious Quiz Nights equip community groups with all the necessary tools to host a successful trivia night, including the provision of a professional quiz master, questions drawn from National Geographic’s vast knowledge-bank and loads of great prizes. Entry is open to not-for-profit organisations, charities, schools, sporting teams, clubs and other local organisations wanting to fundraise while having fun. Issuing the nation-wide call for community groups to register their interest, National Geographic Channel Managing Director, Karin Simoncini, said, “The Live Curious Quiz Nights were first launched as industry nights and were such a success they have evolved into national events open to local communities across Australia.” “National Geographic Channel is proud to be supporting community groups across the country in hosting memorable Live Curious Quiz Nights that help fundraise for local worthy causes,” Ms Simoncini added. Over 150 community groups across the country will be selected from the registered entries to host National Geographic Live Curious Quiz Nights in their local area. The winning team from each event will go into the major prize draw to win a $15,000 Northern Territory travel voucher, courtesy of Tourism NT. Tourism Northern Territory Chief Executive, Maree Tetlow, said, “We are delighted to be associated with National Geographic Channel's Live Curious Quiz Nights and look forward to giving away an unforgettable Northern Territory travel experience to one lucky team."
