My Workplace Digital Signage “Aha Moment”

Yes, I was impressed when…… The Marlin Company welcomed me on my first day with a custom digital signage message.

But I didn’t quite “get it” yet.

Certainly, the Electronic Communication Station technology was neat. And yes, I felt great about the welcome. But there had to be more to it. Why were so many workplaces scrambling to get this tool?

Within minutes of arrival that first day, something happened that enlightened me about digital signage at the workplace.

I was greeted by name…… by someone who didn’t have access to the email announcement that introduced me.

Hi, Sean. Welcome aboard!

And the people that didhave email access…

… still seemed friendlier than most. They didn’t have to worry about forgetting my name. Or not being able to match a name with a face.

They “knew” me, my face, my background… all thanks to our workplace digital signage program.

So it turns out…… a welcome message about me wasn’t ALL about me after all

It was about empowering my new co-workers. Giving them the info they need to feel comfortable about change. Keeping them in the loop. And much more.

This was my “aha” moment. Many more have followed. This was just the beginning.
