C-OURSESTUDY UNITS IN AN ACADEMIC SUBJECT.
-Mooc is open online education that
makes things or studying easier.
- A free distance learning program that is
designed for the participants of large
numbers or world.
HISTORY OF MOOC
-The first three learning distance occurred in
Europe and United states alter industrial
revolution.
-it is because of post services were needed in
factories, postal service were becoming
faster.
-as the London school of economics was the
first one to offer distance learning. The 1st
generation was still far from reaching the
massive numbers like most of students today.
-technology introduced electronic media that
lead to population of radio and electronic
television as educational tool in 20th century.
Teachers and learners from all parts of the
world took advantage of this new technology,
and those who couldn’t learn formally could
watch or listen to class discussion for free.
-The content was adopted to reach different
audience as it has even today and open
universities adapted the open policy to allow
students to have access to academic knowledge.
-Even regular pedagogy formal textbook
and written assignments were
influenced by digital technologies such
as blackboard as the professors are also
keeping it real. E.g. our university of
Johannesburg is also part of blackboard
users.

Types of moocs
xMOOC Signifying, external, outreach,
experimentation which has grown out of a
traditional of exploring online teaching and
learning.
cMOOC are based on connectivity learning
theory and knowledge is generated by
teachers, students and multiple others.
SMooc are grounded in behaviorist with some
cognitive and constructivist. This teaching style
will drill and practice ,problem set.
BENEFITS OF MOOC
-mooc has benefited many discussions
about their structure ,effectiveness and
students, teachers e-learning
specialists, academic the media has
opinion because of mooc .evoluntary of
technology and new learning has been
closely related. Mooc contains the
following: correspondence, multimedia
and computer mediated. reduce costs of
traditional higher education.
