Final MomentsThe sun, beating down on me.Like being in a human-sized oven. The bee about to blow his whistle.A pass cuts through the grass, and slithers to my feet.Around a defender.Slicing into the grass.Rolling, rolling, rolling.Out of the netting, comes the defender of his territory.New uniform, a cheetah, yellow and orange belly with white clean paws.My foot sticks into the ground.I swing my whole body and hit the ball in a perfect arc.Silence, everybody silent.GOAL!!!!The ball sounds like a waterfall falling through the net.Cheers from the crowd and my teammates from the winning goal.Wheet wheet wheet.Game over.

Reflection

In this reflection I am writing about my poem “Final Moments”. This assignment was easy to complete because I was writing down what came out on paper. I learned how to strongly use similes and metaphors in my writing. I became more able to describe my pieces. If I had more time to revise this piece, I would add some more describing sentences to the middle of my piece. My goal for the next time I write is to really push the imagery and continue to use similes and metaphors.

Dessert Time!

After dinner dad asks us to go to the ice cream shop. We say yes and go to the car. Car rides to the Wellsley downtown ice cream shop.We pull up and jump out of the car like a cheetah jumping for its prey. Before we walk into the shop, I can feel and smell the ice cream lingering in the air. When waiting my turn, I pick out my treat. At the counter comes just as I like it. Yummmmm, the taste of that chocolate-vanilla swirl is being in ice cream heaven. The icy cream dissolving in my mouth, like a snowman melting in the sun.Through the store, across the street, onto the sidewalk, and into the park.Onto the bench we sit, under the foliage vi with a view of a school. The sun is setting down through the sky with beautiful sunset of brilliant colors.Along the sidewalk and into the car we go, on our way back home.

Reflection

In this reflection I am writing about my poem “Dessert Time!”. It was easy to complete this assignment because I used imagery well and I used many poetic devices. I learned how to have a creative title while sending the point across to portray what the poem is about. I really learned how to stretch out sentences and change words to make it a better poem. If I could do something different I would add some sentences onto the end.
