Prof Azra Razzack of the Centre for Dalit and Minority Studies, Jamia Millia Islamia, said the court's observation was preposterous. "It's like asking girls used to wearing salwars that they have to appear in short skirts. This is preposterous. Apart from the hijab, this is problematic for everyone else. CBSE has to run the exams in a smooth manner and keep the mafia and cheats out. But, in the process, innocent people are being harassed. It's also humiliating for girls used to wearing hijab. It's like asking them to strip."
