Concept:

Happy, colourful, quirky, light hearted music

video. That looks homemade and reflects the style

of music.

Purpose:

To amplify the songs meaning and effect.

To promote an upcoming band.

Desired outcome:

To make a fun music video that promotes the band

and their music.

I would like to include techniques such as jump cuts and stop motion animation, which is used in a lot of the videos I’ve looked at.

My video will look homemade like the videos I have looked at, and this will reflect the style of indie music.

My Plan

1) Get permission to use music 2) Location search and find people to be in video 3) Plan video, shot types etc4) Organise when to meet with ‘singers’ and extras 5) Film over a few days, in different locations with

different people 6) Look back at video clips that have been filmed,

re-shoot if needed 7) Edit video

Locations

I’ve chosen to film outdoors in fields, playgrounds and parks.

These locations reflect the fun and quirky style of indie music videos. Also, its easier to film outdoors as there is plenty of room and less people.

Personnel involvedI will direct and edit the video. There will be two main ‘singers’ who will lip syncto the music. About 2/3 other people to star as extras throughoutand 8/10 other extras to run in and dance at theend of the video.

Likely problems:Finding reliable extras to be in video and being ableto meet up enough to film video. Having locations that are easy to get too, that have enough space to film in and reflect the mood of video.Costs: The possible use of props such as; balloons, party poppers.etcTransport issues: Trying to get all the extras to the same location, so possiblywill just film a couple of locations with extras then the otherswith just singer. Health and safety issues: Moving equipment like video cameras and tripods.
