This double page spread has two columns of text, it has some quotes highlighted to make them stand out to the reader. The article starts of introducing the reader to Billie Joe Armstrong, and what kind of character he is .

It uses a pull quote which tells us about the group and they music “ Punk has always been about doing things your own way”, this gives the impression of rebellion, which is a theme in punk

Its headline is the name of the artist, as the article is about him. The font is in odd angles which adds to green days image of a rebellion/punk, by not having the headline on a straight line.

It carries on the house style of, a scrap book, with rip pages, sticky tape, and pencil lines and scribbles.

The photo is studio shot, and shows the artist as bold, with his pose. Also shows the style of music through the style of cloths he is wearing; black, skinny jeans, studded belt, black hair and black eyes, it gives the reader the impression of rock.

This double page spread has four columns of text, its colours are black and white. It’s a simple design.

The headline is a rhetorical question, as the article is about a new group made up of already established artists. The headline is sans serif, and bold with the first line thinner than “super group” this is to make it stand out more.

It has the groups logo in the middle of the headline, this is so the reader will associate the logo with the band, and recognise it if they saw it anywhere else.

The crest style logo, gives the group a image of heritage, from the previous bands they were in.

The photo used is simple, its not studio shot. It shows then as ordinary, it shows all three members of the group, and they are looking straight at the reader. They are sitting in front of a run down house, with peeling paint and rusty chairs, the photo doesn't look glossy, but serious.

NME

The headline on this double page spread is small making it look insignificant, but a reader would know what the article is about from the page photo opposite. It has five columns of text, spread around the photos.

The main photo has all three members, standing with they instruments, this will show what kind of music style they are; guitar, bass guitar, and drums, are linked to rock. The groups facial expressions are serious, with one member looking out to the reader, this shows that he is the lead. It also uses past photos, of photo shots, live performance and them practicing and recording. Overall it doesn’t use too many colours, the font is mainly black, with a pull quote in red to make it stand out against the rest of the article.
