He has specialized training in the field of musculoskeletal ultrasound at Henry Ford Hospital from Dr. Marnix Van Holsbeeck, world renowned radiologist and author of the textbook, Musculoskeletal Ultrasound. Musculoskeletal Ultrasound is a dynamic, non-invasive exam that allows high-resolution, real-time evaluation of musculoskeletal disorders. It is an excellent complement to Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and a reliable modality for diagnosing soſt tissue musculoskeletal disorders such as ligament and tendon injury/damage. Common exams include diagnostic evaluation of the shoulder, ankle/foot, elbow, hip, knee, wrist/hand. While MRI remains the gold standard for diagnosing soſt tissue injury, ultrasound can be comparable for many diagnoses and can be utilized in patients with contraindications for MRI. In addition, FRC is pleased to offer ultrasound guided musculoskeletal interventions including joint and soſt tissue aspirations, injections and biopsies. e visualization of the needle in real time allows for reliable placement of the needle tip in the appropriate tendon sheath, bursa, or joint of interest. He has specialized training in the field of musculoskeletal ultrasound at Henry Ford Hospital from Dr. Marnix Van Holsbeeck, world renowned radiologist and author of the textbook, Musculoskeletal Ultrasound.
