Little did I realise just howmuchminewouldchange!” OctoberisBreastCancerAwarenessMonthand Taryn would like to make womenaware that you don’t have to wait untilyouare40tohaveyourfirstmammogram.“Timeshavechangedandweneedtotakecontrol of our bodies and our health. Get to knowyourbodyandbeawareofhowyouarefeeling.” To those who are fighting breast cancer,Taryn’s advice is to focus on one day at a time.“It’sallabouttakingbite-sizedchunksanddealingwithalittlebitatatime.”

Formula Dhasusedamixoftechnologyanddesign–combining the latest technology, graphic, multimedia, and exhibition design toupgradeandcreatecuttingedgemuseumdisplays and events at The Old Prison MuseuminPietermaritzburg. The design follows a chronologicalsequence,which isdivided intoanumber
Setting History Freeoferas,beginningwith the“Colonial”andendingwiththecontemporaryworld,titledthe “FreedomEra”. The different eras notonlyreflectthepassageofhistory,butalsotheshiftsinpowerandtheuseoftheprison.While the old prison, which stoppedoperatingin1987,wasbeingtransformed,more details about previous prisoners emerged, including the fact that President NelsonMandela spent a night there afterbeingarrestedoutsideHowick. The next stage of the project will be toconvert the top floor into a research andlibrary centre where visitors will be ableto investigate issues in greater detail. Themuseum isexpected toplayan importantroleinattractingalargernumberoftouristsvisitingtheregion.
