Environmental Assessments

Environmental assessment ensuresthat the environmental implicationsof decisions are taken into accountbefore the decisions are made. Forlarge projects, environmentalimpact assessment (EIA) orenvironmental and social impactassessment (ESIA) are prepared. The impact assessment is used toidentify and assess environmentaland social effects, comparealternatives, and design mitigationmeasures and environmentalmanagement plans. At Ramboll we advise and assist ourclients throughout the entire EIA/ESIA process, hereby ensuring thatall environmental and social

implications are taken into accountbefore any final decision is made. We carry out impact assessmentsworldwide for industrial, oil, gas,and renewable projects, such asoffshore oil field developments andextensions, decommissioning of oiland gas installations, installation ofoil and gas pipelines, constructionof gas storage facilities andinstallation of offshore wind farms.   

Interaction with authorities

A key factor to success is detailedknowledge of national and locallegislation and good workingrelations with the authorities. Byworking closely together with ourmany regional offices, we obtaindetailed insight in the legislativerequirements on both national andinternational levels.  For this reason, one of our corecompetences is authoritymanagement, such as consultationswith governmental institutions andthe public, as well as preparing andparticipating in public hearings.
