WORLD PUMPS October 2014
KSB at SMM 2014 in Hamburg
Mouvex at IAA Show 2014
Landia upgrades water pollution control facility
Neptune at WEFTEC 2014
KSB will be providing information on
its pumps and valves as well as
control and monitoring systems
designed for applications on board
diff erent vessel types and for off shore
applications. These range from
liquefi ed gas tankers, cargo vessels
and suction dredgers to passenger
ships and off shore platforms.
Alongside KSB AG’s energy-saving,
high-pressure and standardised
pumps showcased at this year’s
Mouvex, a manufacturer of posi-
tive displacement pumps, will be
featuring its screw compressor
technology for the international
commercial vehicle industry at the
65th Annual International Motor
Show (IAA) Commercial Vehicles.
The IAA Show – which is the
world’s largest trade show for
mobility, transport and logistics –
will be held from 25 September -
2 October in Hannover, Germany.
Exhibiting in Hall 25 Stand C31 and
FG-G37, Mouvex will be featuring
its MH6 screw compressor, the
world’s fi rst combination screw
compressor/power takeoff (PTO)
unit for the dry-bulk transport
market. The culmination of
four years of coopera-
tive eff ort between
Mouvex and Hydrocar,
the MH6 has been
designed to be
compatible with a
truck’s gearbox,
while at the same
time off ering a 70%
Serving over 11,000 residents, the
facility at Staff ord Connecticut,
USA underwent an upgrade in
January 2011, when six 1.8 hp
Landia mixers were installed in the
anoxic tanks as part of a new acti-
vated sludge process. Three 2.4 hp
Axial fl ow pumps, designed and
manufactured by Landia, were also
Neptune a brand of chemical
metering and peristaltic pumps,
portable mixers, chemical feed
systems and other related
equipment, will be exhibiting in
Booth 1529 at the Annual Water
Environment Federation Technical
Exhibition and Conference
(WEFTEC) from Sept. 29 – Oct. 1 in
New Orleans, LA, USA.
At this year’s WEFTEC show,
Neptune will be showcasing its
Series 7000 mechanically actuated
diaphragm metering pumps in
Booth 1529. Neptune’s Series 7000
pumps have been designed with
water and wastewater applications
in mind. The mechanical design of
the Series 7000 eliminates the use
of contour plates on the liquid
side of the diaphragm while the
simple, straight-through valve and
head design allows for improved
fl ow characteristics. The Series
7000 is self-priming, provides
superior performance, and has a
maximum capacity range up to
300 gph (1,135 L/h) at 150 psi.
Hamburg trade show, an impressive
pump manufactured by KSB Itur
Spain S.A. for use with various
on-board applications will be on
display as an example of its compre-
hensive marine range. KSB’s US
American subsidiary, GIW, will present
one of its slurry pumps which are
employed on suction dredgers all
over the world to ensure that water-
ways are kept free for shipping.
Thanks to its space-saving design,
the exhibited UPA-type submers-
ible borehole pump is increasingly
used for off shore wind turbines
and transformer stations. Its robust
design makes for long service
intervals. It can be used in fi re-
fi ghting systems, pressure booster
and cleaning systems as well as
for seawater extraction.

weight reduction when compared
to traditional screw compressors.
The MH6 combines Hydrocar’s
innovative PTO device and the
Mouvex screw compressor prin-
ciple, resulting in a solution for
dry-bulk fl eets that is lighter and
less expensive than traditional
equipment. Thanks to the lighter
overall weight of the system, the
MH6 is able to provide fl eets with
increased turnover per truck per
year that equates to improved
revenues, while also meeting the
requirements of the European
Union’s Euro 6 legislation.

introduced for the aeration basins,
from where they return nitrifi ed
mixed liquor back to the anoxic
tanks for denitrifi cation. To improve
their maintenance program and
equipment service life, plant
personnel at Staff ord contacted
Landia for assistance. WPCF chief
operator Rick Hartenstein,
commented “Landia sent one of
their skilled engineers to show
maintenance staff how to best
look after the pumps and mixers
for our benefi t”.

mantic River. The collection
system, which has over 2,000
hook-ups, encompasses approxi-
mately 22 miles of the town and
utilizes four pumping stations. Cis

Neptune will also be featuring its
PZ Series electronic diaphragm
and Series 500 hydraulically actu-
ated metering pumps. PZ Series
pumps have numerous designed
in features, making them ideal for
various product applications at
fl ow rates from .01 to 20 gph. PZ
pumps operate on a manual
control that produces speed
ranging from 15 to 300 strokes per
minute with a variety of liquid-end
materials are available
