History of Mountain Climbing • The history of mountain climbing is started

form Europe. In 19th century mountain climbing began to be regarded as a sport in Europe.

• At the first time Sir Edmund Percival Hillary from New Zealand and Tenzing Norgay, a Sherpa from Nepal, on 29 May 1953 climbed Mt. Everest successfully.

• The first woman to climb Mount Everest was Junko Tabei, who reached the summit in 1975.
