Mount Amelia

Mount Amelia is a Grade II* listed country house perched on top of the coastal ridge in West Norfolk, commanding views over the countryside and across the sea towards Lincolnshire.

With its tranquil and breath-taking position it is an ideal venue to celebrate your wedding day or special event. Intimate events for up to fifty people can be held inside Mount Amelia, while larger weddings and events can be catered for in a marquee in the stunning grounds, surrounded by mature trees and beautiful countryside.

For your wedding you have the choice of a Church ceremony, in the beautiful parish

Church of St. Nicholas, Ingoldisthorpe just 5 minutes’ walk away or a civil ceremony in either the light and airy Long Room, the charming Chinese Yellow Drawing Room or outdoors on our stunning York stone terrace.

Bookings at Mount Amelia are based on exclusive use of the Hall and grounds and all weekend rates are offered with three nights use running from noon on Friday to 10am on Monday. Nightly extensions are available subject to availability. Weddings indoors allow a maximum of fifty people. Larger weddings up to 120 people are accommodated in a marquee on the East lawn with music and dancing indoors. In each case music must end at 12 midnight.

Accommodation at Mount Amelia

Ingoldisthorpe Hall

Cottages

Built in 1745, and originally named ‘Mount Amelia’, Ingoldisthorpe Hall was once a substantial North Norfolk country house and estate.

Still set in thirty acres of private grounds and parkland, it offers exceptional views across the Norfolk coast and is just one of a few Grade II* listed Country Houses in England.

Ideally suited to large groups the accommodation can comfortably sleep up to fifteen people. Ingoldisthorpe Hall and Cottages are available to rent for holidays, weekends and one off events - a home from home for family gatherings, birthday parties, the wedding of your dreams or for a family and friends holiday.

Extra accommodation in the main Hall can be provided for £25 per person per night in the form of Z-beds and cot beds (maximum 4 extra)

In addition camping in the grounds is also available at £15 per person per night (these guests will have to use bathroom facilities within Ingoldisthorpe Hall and by agreement with you)

Mount Amelia has three charming self-catering estate cottages, sleeping up to 6, 4-5 and 4 people and are dog friendly allowing 1 dog per property. These can be booked together with Ingoldisthorpe Hall for large groups or on their own.

Our luxury self catering holiday homes have been equipped with everything that you will need for your stay in Norfolk.

Estate accommodation extends to fifteen bedrooms sleeping up to thirty people, with fifteen in Ingoldisthorpe Hall and a further fifteen across Ivy, Gardeners and Grooms CottageAll these areas are within just a few minutes walk.
