A tole painter for many years, Carol leans toward watercolors with a feature of light.

MARCH | SATURDAY 11TH | 11:00 AM - NOONWilliam Hobbs - Water in MotionLocal artist William D. Hobbs’ oil paintings explore the intricacies of the natural world with emphasis on water in motion. The artist will tell the many stories behind his work and feature the influence of the classic American painters of the Hudson River School on his own artistic vision. Presentation in Kortz Hall.

A sampling of watercolor works from residents of the community will be displayed.

MAY | SATURDAY 13TH | 11:00 AM - NOONRonnie and Jenna Simpson - Photography by Mother & DaughterThe mother and daughter duo of Ronnie and Jenna Simpson share a love of photography to express their artistic side. Mom (Ronnie) has operated Unique Images by Ronnie for 21 years in Nazareth. Ronnie tries to incorporate nature as a backdrop for her photography subjects. Daughter Jenna has a passion for capturing beauty in the Nazareth area.

JUNE | SATURDAY 10TH | 11:00 AM - NOONJackie Shoup - Watercolor PaintingsLocal artist Jackie Shoup began her art study in calligraphy. She has studied watercolor with artist Dana Siebler for 17 years. Jackie is a member of several art clubs and organizations.

Drawing on inspiration from The Andrews Sisters, the Swing Time Dolls pride themselves on tight and intricate harmonies that are sure to keep you engaged.

All proceeds benefit the Good Samaritan Fund at Morningstar Senior Living which provides assistance to residents and clients who can no longer pay in full for their care. Ticket cost is $25.

share your challenges, exchange ideas and create strategies with others in similar situations. Our professional group facilitators are trained by the Alzheimer’s Association. If you would like your loved one to participate

MARCH | TUESDAY 21ST | 10:30 AMPreventing Senior ScamsResearch indicates that older people are more likely to be victims of certain crimes like fraud, identity theft, scams and financial exploitation. David P. Shallcross, Elder Abuse Unit Leader at the Office of the Attorney General, will discuss the type of crimes targeting seniors and outline valuable steps you should take to protect yourself.

MARCH | THURSDAY 30TH | 6:00 PMMemory Lane | Faith, Hope and Love: These Remain in DementiaMost people are aware of the many losses that accompany the progression of dementia. Yet all too often, we miss the strengths and abilities that remain even as the disease progresses. Guest speaker Dr. Kelly Carney will offer a positive view of dementia by focusing on the important human capacities that remain in the face of progressive cognitive decline. Based upon a shared understanding of the progressive stages of dementia, this program will explore the capacity individuals with cognitive impairment still have for spirituality, meaningful engagement and relationship. Furthermore, we will discuss the interesting ways in which lessons from spirituality and humanism align with the insights emerging through science and best practice related to dementia care.

JUNE | THURSDAY 29TH | 6:00 PMMemory Lane | Practical Tips and Local Community Support to Help with Dementia CareJoin us for an informative evening with a panel of experts from the Lehigh Valley who will provide information, tips, best practices and community services for caregivers living with and/or caring for someone with dementia. This will be an informal question and answer format with a brief introduction from each person on the panel. We hope you will come away with ideas on how to manage and support your loved ones in addition to supporting yourself as a caregiver.

Join us as Michael Balk from the Penn State Extension Master Gardener Program discusses how you can do your part to save landfill space by recycling grass, branches, leaves and more. Also learn how residents and staff at Moravian Hall Square are working together to produce compost for our community gardens.

JUNE | TUESDAY 20TH | 10:30 AMSaving the Liberty BellAs we prepare to celebrate our nation’s freedom, learn how the Liberty Bell was saved from the British Army. A presenter from the Liberty Bell Museum at the Zion’s Reformed United Church of Christ will share the story of how America’s most famous symbol of freedom found refuge during the darkest days of the Revolution. Learn how the Liberty Bell made the journey from Philadelphia to be housed beneath the floorboards of this historic church in Allentown.

FEBRUARY | TUESDAY 21ST | 10:30AM Moravian TraditionsLearn about the Moravian faith and the tradition of the Love Feast. This program will focus on the symbolism and tradition of the Love Feast in the Moravian Faith. You will have the opportunity to take part in the Moravian Love Feast.

MARCH - APRIL | WEDNESDAYS | 2:30 PMMidweek Lenten Services - The Roads to GodLent is the period during which Christians prepare for Easter. Many churches hold a series of midweek services which allow worshippers to develop a theme enhancing Christian discipleship. The Moravian congregations of Nazareth, including the worshipping assembly at Moravian Hall Square, have sponsored such series. The services are held in the afternoon at Moravian Hall Square and are repeated in the evening at both Nazareth Moravian Church and Schoeneck Moravian Church, on an alternating basis. The life of faith is sometimes referred to as a pilgrimage. This year’s Lenten series is entitled “The Roads to God.”
