GOLDEN WEST MORGAN COUNCIL

Scholarship ApplicationThe Golden West Morgan Council is proud to offer two $500 scholarships to students who are pursuing higher education beyond high school.

The objective of the Council is not to act as a club itself, but rather to act as a support group for each of the clubs in the Western Region;

• to approve and coordinate Morgan Horse Shows and fairs with Morgan classes that take place within the Western Region

• to encourage and assist the clubs in promoting the Morgan Horse to the public, especially the Youth, through education as to the his-tory and uses of the Morgan Horse.

If you are pursuing an educational endeavor, we urge you to submit a scholarship application.

The following is a general outline of the program:1. Two $500 scholarships are available annually, generally one from

the North and one from the South.2. The scholarships will be paid to the recipient within 90 days after

the award of the scholarship.3. The program is open to any man or woman who is seeking higher

education with personal dedication to the support of the Morgan Horse.

4. The following will be considered important: - Personal Statement - Activities/Community - Equestrian Related Activities - Academic Achievement - Personal Statement - Letters of Recommendation (2)5. Selection will be based on academics, community service, leader-

ship, financial needs, and achievement with Morgan Horses.6. Previous winners are not eligible to participate a second time.7. Application and two (2) reference letters must be postmarked by

June 29th, 2017 to be considered for the scholarship, which will be announced at the GWMC Awards Banquet.

8. If no applicant meets the standards as set by the Committee, the scholarship funds will be held within the Golden West Morgan Council account.

Applications available at: www.GoldenWestMorganCouncil.com

MedallionHall of Fameestablished 1989

Horses who are inducted into this Hall of Fame are those outstanding individuals who have been standouts in their particular division of competition. Only those stabled and shown in the West Coast Region will be considered. No World title is needed, but horses will not be overlooked

because of their titles. The Medallion Hall of Fame Committee will choose an inductee each year, prior to the show. The committee is not obligated to choose from those nominated. If it is found that no horse is eligible, then that year no inductee will be made. This Hall of Fame will stand for excellence, integrity, & the true meaning of the Morgan Horse, whether in performance, in hand, or producing outstanding offspring. The purity of this honor must be maintained so the meaning is kept with that of the highest esteem.
