JB and the Changes all around us
Last year at the AIM in Paris, the Board of Trustees approved five motions that set the organization on a path of change. This change will affect the way we work internationally and also the way we meet and interact with each other. So, to facilitate this change the Transition Team (TT) was selected early November 2012 and since then have met twice and worked extremely hard in between these two meetings.
Junior Branch was a main topic that the TT tackled from various angles, since all the changes proposed will affect JB and the way it interacts with the rest of the organization. When it comes to integration of JB - a subject that was/is being talked about a lot within the organization - the TT say, on the one side, the IJB Team should be fully integrated as one of the committees of the new Governing Board. However, they feel that there is also great value in guaranteeing the autonomy of IJB to select their own leadership. This same idea also allows Juniors to vote for one member of the Governing Board each year. On another hand, the new international meeting, which will be held every 2-3 years from 2015, and IJBC will have a strong relationship between each other. The first one will be a new model of meeting/workshop space bringing CISVers together, and idea very far from what we know now as AIM.
Another very exciting development in the past couple of days was the release of CISV Internationals new website. If you still haven’t had a look, you should go check it out.We hope this was a useful read and has gotten you as excited as us about the changes underway. To keep up to date with the Transition Team and the changes underway, bookmark our TT update pages on www.cisv.org The next big update about all of these changes will be on the 15th of March and if you have any questions please e-mail us at [email protected] & Solifrom the Transition Team

gO east
The Central Eastern European Neighbourhood met up near Budapest for GO EAST to work on the theme ‘Fortress Europe – the reality of Human Rights in Europe’. Activities were focused on Human Rights violations in the 30 participants’ countries. We also cooperated with a group of Roma who later shared their traditional dancing skills and some great music. Keep an eye on the EJB blog for a longer article being published soon...
