Offering a free, confidential Money Advice service to help you manage your money.

About the service Bromford Living, in partnership with Lichfield District Council, now offers a free, confidential Money Advice service to local people. For homeowners and tenants within Lichfield District, the service aims to help make the most of residents’ incomes, manage debt, and offers advice to help maintain tenancies or mortgages.

Our Money Advisor can offer advice and help on a range of problems, including: • mortgage/secured loans arrears • rent arrears to private landlords • council tax arrears • utility arrears - gas, water,

electricity • credit debts - credit cards, bank

overdrafts, loans etc • payday loans • doorstep loans - e.g. Provident,

Shopacheck • budgeting problems

Examples of how we may be able to help include: • checking benefit entitlement and

helping with claims • drawing up an affordable and

sustainable budget • negotiation with creditors to set

up affordable payment arrangements

• filling in court forms - defence forms, applications to suspend eviction etc

• advice on your rights and responsibilities concerning debt

• helping to challenge liability for debt

• representation at court for mortgage/rent possession

• advice on insolvency options - e.g. bankruptcy, debt relief orders, IVA

• filling in bankruptcy forms • applications for charitable

support

Appointments Our Money Advisor offers appointments at Lichfield District Council’s offices based at Frog Lane in Lichfield. We can also visit local people in their homes if they do not have transport or are ill or disabled.
