Setting: Tells the reader when and where the story happens. It is the time period and place in which the story occurs.

Look at the pictures that might be found on the cover of a book. What can you guess about the setting of these stories?

Centers: Remember to turn your work into the basket signing your work with your name and date!

Basket 1: Pull a spelling task card and complete the activity. Do this at least 2 times!

Basket 2: Dictionary Dilemmas! Answer the questions found on the index cards. Use the picture dictionary to help you gather your information!

Basket 3: Abraham Lincoln Mini-Book: Color, cut, and staple the pages of your mini-book in order. Then share your book with a partner at your center!

Basket 4: Meet with Ms. Carmelita to read aloud your small books.

Basket 5: Hot Dots Cards: Take turns reading aloud the card and choosing the hot dot. Share your answers.
